I like this thread better.
Excited for it.
Very excited for the finale. But I'm bummed, because after this we'll have to wait until next year to get anything for the X-Men universe.
I think we'll get a trailer for Deadpool 2/New Mutants/whatever comes out on March 2018. If that's counted haha.
Really, really excited for the season finale!
Really sad that next week might be the final time we see lenny.
Sad it's the last episode but excited for the finale at the same time!
Hmm... will a wheelchair be involved?
One can only hope.
Not helping with keeping my expectations low. t:
I'm curious, do you guys want to expand even further into the X-verse next season? Or would you rather keep the tie-ins a bit more limited? I'm a bit ambivalent on it.
I'd like to see what Hawley would do with other characters based on the comics (take Z-listers like NTW and kinda play around with them) but also, I wouldn't mind keeping the inhabitants of Summerland playing around by themselves. A few more wink and nods (like what we've been getting) would satisfy me just fine.
I'd like to see some acknowledgements of events that happened in the movie, the occasional character like Shadow King that comes from the comics, and hopefully Charles Xavier. Other than that I'm good with the show mostly being a stand-alone thing. However I do think that Legion could use some very minor characters and turn them into something really cool. But only if Hawley thinks they fit the show.
Yeah, acknowledging the school or a throwaway line like, "Mutants have actually been public knowledge since the 70s", or "Alkali Transigen" might be an easy way to tie things in.
I'm just not totally sure about Legion delving fully into Charles and stuff. It'll be interesting how they kinda juggle that from here on out.
Exactly. Even if it is one of those background announcements we've been getting in Summerland.
Well I don't want season 2 to focus only on 'the search for Charles Xavier', but I think it wouldn't make sense if David didn't at least try to find him. I think an appearance in the long term can't really be avoided. Doesn't even mean we'll physically see Sir Patrick Stewart or James McAvoy (though I hope we do), but this episode already showed they can do Xavier stuff without those actors.
More classic, yet less-known characters like Shadow King would be a welcome thing.
Yeah i am happy for the links to stay vague for the moment but perhaps they can explore things a bit later. I hope they link it to the movies as well though, just a glimpse of Xavier's chair was great to see in the last episode.
Y'know, I'd be okay if this had its own unique version of Charles. It won't, but maybe it would be better if this had an alternate universe take where the X-Men weren't as prolific or, perhaps, never even existed.
That would probably mean finding a new actor for the role.
thanks for posting this. i usually turn it off as soon as the credits starts playing.
he's playing a Starfleet Captain in the new Star Trek series. might be difficult to book him due to scheduling or franchise optics reasons.
This show is already the best superhero TV show out there, and I'm excited to see how it sticks its landing. Gotta keep hype levels under control like I had to with Logan!
Also, some reading before the finale to satiate your Legion appetite!
Was there anything you wrote or shot that was just too bizarre for this season?
In terms of the scope of the show, should we consider it to be an alternate timeline narrative like those explored in the newer X-Men films?
Do you have a sense of when Season 2 will premiere?
Should fans expect more connections to stories from the X-Men world?
Aside from David, the mutant characters in Legion are original to your story. Did you craft them with their power in mind first?
You often cast comedians, such as Aubrey Plaza, Bill Irwin, or Jemaine Clement, in dramatic roles. What does that unexpected casting afford you when it comes to storytelling?
In executing the huge ambition of the series, are there lessons you learned that you'll apply to producing Season 2?
The Devil with the Yellow Eyes looks like the X-Men character, Mojo. How did that character design for the show come about?
On a potential Charles Xavier appearance
