I'm skeptical to say this early, but I think this may be fake, for a few reasons:

One: Batman's wearing the Burton suit in the promo, whereas in the game he wears the gray suit, but this is a minor thing.

Two: If it features other DC superheroes, how the **** is it a sequel to Lego Batman, then? Why not just make games for those heroes, too, such as Superman?

Three: Almost all of the Lego games have been based off of movie franchises. Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones (and it's sequel, which remade the first game and added the fourth film, unless I'm mistaken), and Lego Star Wars.

The first Lego Batman film was (albeit fairly loosely) based off of the Burton/Schumacher series. So what would a sequel be based off of? Nolan's trilogy? Not if it's using other superheroes, it isn't. BTAS, like how Lego Star Wars 3 was based on the Clone Wars? Not likely, since, although there were other superheroes in the series, the series was still entirely about Batman. The JL/JLU cartoon? Then why the hell don't they call it Lego Justice League instead of Lego Batman 2?

In the Lego game alot of the music is specifically from Batman Returns.
I like the lego games, it's good for casual leasure. Compared to most other batman games the lego game was very good.

IMO, in comparison to other Lego games, it seemed to be trying to hard to make it work as a Lego Game. Since Co-Op is standard on all the other Lego games, they had to add Robin, which made sense, but to fill up the levels of the game itself they added a ton of padded bullcrap. I mean, even with the other Lego games, even if the stories were different from the films, and done comedically, it still HAD a plot that it followed. Lego Batman felt like it was just a ton of levels that barely had any correlation to one another.

Not to mention, has rights to The Avengers, which would much fit the of the Lego perfectly. There's almost always two or more people that would make sense to be playable in each scene. There's tons of fighting and more than enough grunt-type characters for large armies. It seems more likely they'd choose that.

I suppose you are right. Still, the plot has never really been the driving force, it kind of just refrences movies as a nod.

Well, yeah, but it had SOME basis for the plot. If they go in the direction of multiple superheroes, then it's not really a Lego Batman game, and they can't really base it off of anything.

I really hope this is true. Lego Batman was my favorite Lego game.

So, this was just officially announced for the Summer. I like the LEGO games, very basic, very relaxing, and I really can't wait to play most of the Justice League. I hope Flash and Aquaman get in, because that sounds incredibly fun to me. :P I also want to see Black Canary. Hope we get a trailer soon.

Also glad this is coming out in the summer. Not too many games come out around that time, so I'll be busy with this and Darksiders 2.

I don't really get why they're calling this Lego Batman 2 and not Lego DC Universe or something. I guess synergy tie-in to TDKR or something, still kind of dumb since this seems pretty obviously something that spans the whole DCU. A minor quip obviously, but just kind of weird.

Anyway, I really liked the first game; it's the only Lego game I ever bought. I hope GS does the keychain Lego figures pre-order for this. Love to have a Supes or Wondie one.

Could be about the brand, the first game did sold a lot of copies and if I'm not mistaken it's the best selling Lego game yet, but it could also be because I believe it's still going to be quite Batman & Gotham City centric.

I like the first game so I'm looking forward to this, mainly to play the other DC heroes and villains.

i'm really looking forward to this, the lego games are always fun and with the licences they recently got

entire dc universe(hence why its super heroes)
entire marvel universe
lord of the rings

the games and sets could be brilliant

A better title would have been something like Lego DC Universe & then just do a maybe Nolan Lego Batman Game Trilogy

Ah, if that's the case I'm fairly disappointed. What's the point of having all of these DCU superheroes if you aren't going to similar utilize the stuff around them? I'll still probably pick it up, but eh, I don't care much for that.

The press release seems to indicate that.

An excerpt:

In LEGO Batman™ 2: DC Super Heroes, the Dynamic Duo of Batman and Robin join other famous super heroes from the DC Universe including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to save Gotham City from destruction at the hands of the notorious villains Lex Luthor and the Joker.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes allows players to explore all new areas of Gotham City utilizing a variety of vehicles including the Batmobile and Batwing.

Since TT Games put out a lot of Lego games a better idea would've be them holding out the rest of the DC characters outside the Batman universe for a Lego Justice League game or something like that, but nope. Still, I enjoyed the first game so chances are I'm going to pick this up nonetheless.

Well, that make that excitement temper off a lot. I'll still probably pick it up, but eh, that seems kind of like a waste to me.

I downloaded the game over the summer, it was pretty fun, will probably wait 'till it hits a bargain basement price on X-Box Live Arcade again though.

Uh....Lego Batman 2? It hasn't been released yet.

Gah, voice acting? It was probably done to match with the upcoming animated shorts...but I'm not sure how I feel about that.

It's probably done to change things up. But I must say, that trailer was pretty awesome. I've played just about every LEGO game and this one looks to be the best by far. Can't wait to see more of it.

I'm also curious to see if they are basing this off of the Superman film or the animated series or a mix of both, since they used the film score but cartoon voice for Lex.
