Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I think you mean Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. :funny:

Lego: The Force Unleashed should be a DLC pack.

I'll buy it, but it'll feel weird stretching out a single movie over 15 stages.

This should be fun. I wonder how they're going to stretch it out over a whole game, especially since all the other movies in the original Lego Star Wars games were only five or six levels each. I was actually expecting them to remake the original games to have updated levels, better graphics and audio from the movies and then throw The Force Awakens in there instead of having its own game. But I guess they'll have plenty of DLC.

Damn. I got excited then I saw the stupid Lego in the title. Another weak ass Lego title when we should be getting real games based on these licenses.

Well, it says there's apparently some content in the game that takes place between 6 & 7, so it's not just one movie. I would've predicted something from Rogue One, but it looks like it actually comes out this year, oddly enough.

It kinda seems like aside from the narration in the trailer, they've gone back to not speaking in these Lego games. None of the characters even grunt or anything. I wouldn't mind if that was the case, it was pretty charming to watch them mime out the scenes. Like Vader telling Luke he's his father by pointing at a picture of Anakin and Padme.

for the content between 6 and 7, it will probably be bonus levels like what they did for Iron Man 3, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Thor: The Dark World in Lego Marvel's Avengers, and I think the game will have voice acting, they probably just edited out the voices in the trailer to avoid movie spoilers because the movie is still in theaters. If they went back to the no voices style, the game would get negative backlash from the reviewers since the gamers are now used to the voice acting.

But then, all 3 of the previous Lego Star Wars games lacked voice acting. And I'm also basing it off the fact that all the gags in the trailer are visual. I don't seriously mind either way, but I'd like for it to be no voice acting. Purely visual comedy, especially in kids media, is pretty underrated.

Still though, if there was voices, I would've expected a joke in the trailer, or at least some vocal reaction from Poe or the Stormtrooper that got hit. That doesn't confirm anything, but it does hint at it.

no voices > voices

Minifigs shouldn't speak.

Voices > No Voices

Minifigures should speak, because the game story doesn't make sense without them talking

I like having voices in the game. I do think Lego Marvel Super Heroes and Lego Batman 2 and 3 did it better then games that took the voices straight from movies.

I like voices in the game, if its original voice acting and not clips straight from the movie.

However, the voiceless LEGO games do have a certain charm that I enjoy.

That was back before Lego started using dialogue in all of their movie-based games. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter didn't utilize it but every game released afterwards did (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Jurassic World, The Avengers). I'd expect them to use dialogue from the movie for The Force Awakens too.

The stories made sense before they spoke, and they had to figure out more creative ways of telling it.

With the other Lego Star Wars games, it was more of a parody then trying to make sense. And since they were based on films, the assumption was you pretty much already knew the plot, and if you didn't, you'd go watch the movie. And you can't use "TFA is new" as an excuse, because so was Revenge of the Sith when the first game came out.

And if the game does have voice acting, I'd really prefer it to not have clips from the movie. I love Lego Avengers and all, but it's really noticeable and really awkward when they have characters with original voice acting try and talk with a character who speaks in movie clips.

The game will have voice acting. According to this tweet, one of the castmates of Star Wars: The Force Awakens recorded new dialogue for the game.

Aww, that bites. At least it's not voice clips.
