The iconic Leprechaun (American Horror) film series presents us with the demonic underworld mischievous deformed Irish impish leprechaun named Lubdan who viciously destroys and kills anyone foolish enough to get near him or to his magical pot of gold. Sometimes the ugly Lubdan will stalk people, in various environments, and tempt them to get near his pot of gold before killing them.
Lubdan is a cult-favorite horror-film series 'avatar' and has become representative of Americans' love of demonic characters, and though he's not as celebrated as other mainstays in American horror-cinema such as Jason, Michael Myers, Leatherface, or even Chucky or Carrie, he's truly a cult-favorite rendering of horror-storytelling characterization.
That's really what makes the Leprechaun series of American horror-films great, its rendering of a very recognizable evil manslaying 'avatar' of mischief.
The leprechaun is an impish man-creature from Irish mythology, not necessarily evil but definitely hiding magical pots of gold like Lubdan, and the leprechaun is an 'avatar' that's been used by the Lucky Charms breakfast cereal company and the Notre Dame Fightin' Irish college football team. Though America is not dominantly Irish in demographics, the evil iconic Lubdan the leprechaun from the graphically macabre but modern Leprechaun horror-film series has become popular among all American fans of underworld storytelling.
One might therefore ask if Lubdan is America's version of Godzilla!
This is a film series that is not only comic-book friendly but also folk-ingenious. I'd love to read what others make of the Lubdan films and even comics.

LUBDAN: "He who dares to grab this gold will wish he would safely grow young or old!"
