Les Miserables: One Thread More!

So, apparently the DVD/blu-ray is scheduled for March 19.

I have nothing to back that up other than a post on a blu-ray forum, but...that's a possible release date.

I'd believe it. March/April is usually when the Oscar contenders start hitting DVD/Blu-ray.

Apparently somebody ripped a screener to one of the torrent sites, for those who just CAN'T WAIT...

I might be wrong, but in some countries it's not even released in cinemas at that time .... these poor people can order the DVD first and then see it in cinema ....

I saw this today and thought it was pretty average to be honest. People who thought 'The Hobbit' dragged on shouldn't see this and Russell Crowe trying to sing in embarrassingly bad. If he had one or two songs I would have let it slide but he's a pretty major character so it didn't work at all.

It was all style, no substance for me. Nothing like the beauty of live theatre.

To be fair, he technically does only have two songs, it's just that the musical is pretty much an opera in the sense where everything is sung.

As for Hobbit dragging on, I can't say I've read the book, and I haven't seen the movie, but I highly doubt it's anywhere as complex or as long as the book or stage version of Les Miserables. I wouldn't say it's a fair comparison.

I will agree that it is better live. However it moves through a lot of story and tells a complete thematic plot with a beginning, middle and ending. The Hobbit? Not so much.

I have a massive crush on Samantha Barks because of this movie. Just throwing that out there. :o

saw the film and really enjoyed it. Not getting all the russel Crowe hate, i actully really enjoyed him in the role. Him and Jackman's scenes together where great and the best part of the movie to me.

Join the club. :oldrazz:

I hope she has an agent that can let her continue proving her amazing talent and not get stuck in thankless starlet roles in the future.

I saw an interview with her where she said she'd like to be a Bond girl someday. Drizzle approves.

Faint hope, meet inevitable conclusion.

Seriously though, I think the next big trend in the gay community is men adopting dogs and naming them Samantha Barks.

Congratulations to Anne and Hugh winning Golden Globes.

Didn't expect Hugh to win.

I thought Anne has a better and higher chance of winning than Hugh.

Hugh was actually the favorite in the Musical/Comedy category. This is one that he should have one. Anything else is gravy I think.

Les Mis also won for Best Movie Comedy/Musical.

I was so excited I actually took a picture of the TV...
