What are we thinking we’re in for here?

I know they used Earth One art when the series was announced (and have continued using it as the series has developed) and with True Detective inspiration, I could see them starting off with something a bit more subdued. At least where Hal is concerned. John’s suit is already fairly subdued IMO.

But as we’re getting a near-sixty Hal who has (presumably) had a long career, I could see the classic suit having still been in play, too.

I really want to see the classic suit, but I feel the Earth One design is the most realistic for a TV series.

Ah yes. I should have known you would be making this thread since the Lanterns are known for their form fitting attire. :o

Please don't make the costume super baggy...

Considering some of Gunn's statements and what we've seen of Superman's shooting photos, there's a certain intention in this DCU not to take the, now kind of worn-out, route of placing these characters in “our” world.

So I'd like to see something really pulpy here, with the characters wearing their Lantern uniforms under trenchcoats...Something like that.
I just love this idea of film noir-like silhouettes occasionally bursting these crazy green and luminous sci-fi materializations...

I mean, given the influences mentioned and the person responsible for the project, it's the kind of picture that easily comes to my mind when mixing the True Detective and Watchmen series patinas...

I took the liberty of using the art above, posted by @Karelia, to do a quick manipulation and share the mood I was trying to describe in my initial post.
It's far from perfect and very, very rough, but here's the idea...

Trench coat makes me think of Rebirth (2016)

I definitely hope they can give Hal the domino mask with white eyes.

Narratively Hal should absolutely be in the costume, he's a veteran, Legendary Lantern, I could see maybe John being out of costume. He'd look GREAT in a trenchcoat!

Or John Stewart in a trench coat, perhaps?
