Endgame Lets Talk Avengers 4 and what we know #Spoilers?

Right, but he is on the same level (or even a higher one) as the Wakandan technology, as he hasn't even been there, is not like he was introduced to that technology (that we know of). What was so cool about this solo films is that we saw how he evolved, how he worked on the suits. The jump to separate parts flying to him was a logical step (even though the suit felt more like a can) and I love what he can do in Infinity War, don't get me wrong, is so cool, but it is so far out there that I don't believe Tony Stark reached that point. Is a very minor issue I have, but is still an issue. Probably the only one I have, to be honest. I love the MCU too much.

It's a valid criticism I believe, absolutely. It is a bit awkward to see that Stark can now just barf out levitating wave cannons from his back and then suck them back in no worries. I was merely positing the reasons behind such a jump.

Avengers 4 title: Look at Captain America: The First Avengers. With 1:30:32 to left, when Steve Rogers get serum/vitaray, Dr Erskin said: "...today we take not another step towards annihilation, but the first step on the path to peace."
So why mention "annihilation" in movie of the first avengers (Cap.) in early age of MCU. I think that Cap will die as Last Avengers, Kevin Feige said it will be before and after phase 3, so the MCU will use new heroes for new Avengers and this is why the title will be "Avengers Annihilation".

He mentions "annihilation" because the world is at war. As a scientist who has worked with the Red Skull he knows what this can mean.

So Crossbones makes an appereance here?
Okay Russos, Im a Little bit sceptic, youre idea is too big for 2,5 Hours.

The thing is with Stark is that (I don't think) it matters so much now. They're going to be phasing him out, killing him off or replacing him before long, whereas Black Panther is only just starting out, so they can (kinda') afford to give Stark new toys, because they'll soon become irrelevant due to a lack of Stark-focus. :)

I believe it's more of a flashback cameo if nothing else.

Tilda Swinton participated in one day of shooting. The Ancient One will return in some capacity.

Yep. Mark Rufallo was the first one to mention her being in A4.

Decided to make a list of stuff we know related to Avengers 4. These are thing based on set reports, interviews, actors leaking stuff accidentally, merchandise leaks... If you guys know of some interesting stuff feel free to say it and i'll add to the list. It's a good way of keeping track to this sort of stuff.

Update!
New stuff in bold.
AVENGERS 4
  • Iron Man, Nebula, Cap, Thor, War Machine, Black Widow, Rocket, Okoye, Banner/Hulk, Ant-Man... are alive after the snap.
  • Captain Marvel joins the fight against Thanos.
  • Hulk and Banner merge completely into one persona. Smart Hulk wears a suit.
  • Pepper Pots uses a version of the Iron Man suit. The Rescue armour. The purple/blue and white one.
  • Valkyrie escaped with some asgardians in the beginning of IW.
  • Thor, Valkyrie, Rocket, Hulk… meet Hela in Hel. (Frigga ? - Thor’s mother) and Loki are also there.
  • Cap, Iron Man, Hulk and Ant-Man are seen in the battle of New York. Captain America has the same look as in the Avengers. Iron Man has a Shield outfit. Thor has mjolnir. They are using devices on their hands similar to watches. The BARF technology is used in that scene.
  • Iron Man, Thor and Loki have a scene together, the asgardians sport the same looks from Avengers while Iron Man seems to be part of Shield. Loki is captured and i being escorted by a Shield special team.
  • Gamora and Nebula have scenes together. Both have the same looks as from the first GOTG.
  • Gamora, Nebula, Ant-Man and The Wasp have a scene together.
  • Captain Marvel, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Cap, Rocket, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Nebula and War Machine are in Titan together.
  • Cap and Black Widow have a scene together in a bar/dinner.
  • Drax and the Guardians come back.
  • Iron Man is seen in Wakanda.
  • The Ancient One is in the movie. (Maybe in a scene with the Hulk/Banner... and Crossbones? Or it might be just another flashback)
  • Scene with “everyone”. Winter Soldier, Nick Fury, Hank Pym, Janet Van Dyne...
  • Thanos at one point fights Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, War Machine, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man...
  • There’s a scene with Shuri and Star Lord.
  • Happy Hogan is in the movie.
  • Thanos uses his golden plated armour with the fully assembled gauntlet. Are also has a 2 edged staff sword.
  • Thanos left arm is damaged by the “Snap”.
  • Hulk seems to be homeless while walking in alley with a bindle.
  • There are some scenes set in Tokyo with Black Widow, Ronin and japanese gangsters in the rain.
  • Hawkeye now looks like Ronin.
  • Ant Man’s daughter will be portrayed by a much older actress.
  • Pepper Potts is married to Tony Stark and they have a child.
  • Scene with Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. “Peter protect them they are not dead”.
  • Doctor Strange talks about the Quantum Realm to Spider-Man.
  • Scene in a english pub called The Cormorant and Tun with Black Widow, Thor, Banner…
  • Peggy Carter is in the movie.
  • A scene in the 1940’s with Captain America.
  • Crossbones appears in a flashback.
  • There’s a scene in a spaceship with the heroes talking to each other. Captain America, Black Widow, Pepper Potts, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Rocket…
  • Gamorra has a scene with Iron Man, Pepper Potts in the Rescue armor, War Machine, Spider-Man and Hulk.
  • Thor, Rocket and Captain America have matching "space/tech/quantum realm" suits. It's an Avengers uniform. Thor has Stormbreaker, Rocket a big gun and Captain America his traditional shield.
  • The Avengers have a team vehicle. War Machine has his own vehicle.

Probably a fairly minor detail to add to the list, but Shuri and Queen Mother Ramonda are both apparently still around post-Snap. (I think it was Angela Bassett who let that slip in an interview since the Russos hadn't confirmed Shuri's survival.)

So Crossbones makes an appereance here?
Okay Russos, Im a Little bit sceptic, youre idea is too big for 2,5 Hours.
Thanos no longer needs to be introduced and developed so much. Having IW build into this film means there is much more time to focus on the Avengers.

Re: "Thor, Valkyrie, Rocket, Hulk… meet Hela in Hel. (Frigga ? - Thor’s mother) and Loki are also there"

That means Rocket takes Loki's place in the Revengers. :funny:

I wouldn’t say it’s confirmed as he legally can’t confirm or deny he is in the film. He’s not Mark Ruffalo either, where he’ll spill a secret like it’s common knowledge.

How do we know about this Hel scene?

How do we know about this Hel scene?
It’s a well known idea based on solid hints from previous movies, filming for Avengers 4, special locations and specific cast members... I have posted that particular “theory” several times before but i can’t find it now.

Basically the idea is based on the vision Thor had in Age of Ultron in which he was in Hel and he was surrounded by “dead” asgardians and Heimdall who had no eyes. Also there was a suspicious female hooded figure that passed by Thor, someone Thor had a good look at but apparently couldn’t see her face...

As we know Hela’s future in the MCU was left open to interpretation after Ragnarok. Can the goddess of death really die? While filming Avengers 4 the Russo’s where in a cathedral that the interior looked exactly the same as the vision Thor had in AOU. Also Cate Blanchett had a behind the scenes interview in which she was next to a statue that has been only seen in that Hel vision and the cathedral used for A4.

Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson, Tom Hiddleston... where all filming in that location...

It’s a solid theory.

Those press interviews are often filmed in front of setpieces that look good behind them. It’s not a confirmation at all that she’s coming back or that something was filmed that day. Especially if she was not in Hela makeup and garb.

Though I would love for her to make another appearance.

Hela wont be back, and I'll be amazed if we visit Valhalla (or a realm of Hell for that matter). I get why people think it's possible, and where the dots have been connected from, but I can't fathom there's anything more to it than that - incorrect speculation.

We've already got the quantum realm and (apparently) time travel. I wouldn't have thought there'd be any room for the afterlife too, not if we've actually got a story to be told too. It's true that Thanos' backstory has already (mostly) been told, but they're going to want to do a bit on him, then you've got to introduce the likes of Captain Marvel to the rest of the Avengers, you've got to have that meet between Steve and Tony, you've got to have Hulk pull himself together.

To throw in a few scenes with a bunch of dead characters... I just don't see it.

I remember how dismissive people were when anybody mentioned a possible return of Red Skull in Infinity War.
The Hela theory isn't any more outlandish and the evidence may be circumstantial but they are intriguing.

Yes the interviews are often filmed in front of set pieces, like the one where Tony Stark is in front of a Wakanda background... Did we see him in such a place in Infinity War? No. Will we see him in Wakanda in Avengers 4? We shall see.

I haven't said it's confirmed that Hela is showing up. There is solid evidence to support it that's just it... It's not just a theory. Her being in Hela make up or not doesn't really mean anything. Most of the time they aren't in character.

I am not saying she will appear only that there is solid evidence to support that claim and that's why i have it in the summary of possible spoilers for Avengers 4. I like Hela and would like to see her come back but i am not having her in that summary just because of wishful thinking. If she doesn't show up then she doesn't show up. Simple as that.

After some digging finally found the comment with all the solid proof i was talking about. About the theory of Thor, Valkyrie, Hulk, Rocket... maybe going to Hel and meeting Hela.

We didn't see in Infinity War some of the scenes that we're already filmed so i'm guessing those particular scenes where part of Avengers 4 instead. Scenes such as this particular one filmed in a cathedral in Ireland. The Russos where filming in Dunham's Cathedral and they had with them 2 props (Rocket and Mjolnir). Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Tessa Thompson where also spotted there.

And then we have the mysterious statue which also hasn't been seen yet and that has a history of speculation and mystery around it. The same statue where supposedly Thor, Hulk/Banner, Valkyrie and Rocket are having a scene together is the same one spotted behind Cate Blanchett in one of her interviews for Ragnarok. And the same statue is in Thor's vision from Age of Ultron where he sees Heimdal in Hel.

Did you spot Durham Cathedral in Avengers: Infinity War?

Chris Hemsworth, who stars as Thor, was pictured in the city at the time of the shoot.

Brothers Anthony and Joe Russo have directed the film, you can watch an interview with them inside the cloisters at Durham Cathedral above.

Joe revealed: “You’ll see quite a bit of the cathedral.

“It won’t be represented as what it is, it is standing in for something else in the film but you’re going to see a significant amount in the film.”

This article from Screen Rant perfectly sheds light on all of this stuff.

Where Are Those Unused Avengers: Infinity War Set Photos From?

Avengers: Infinity War may not feel like it could have been any bigger, but a string of set photos and filming locations point towards an unused scene. However, was it actually scrapped or could this be a wrinkle in the back-to-back production of Avengers 3 & 4, with the scene instead set for next year's movie?

Originally announced and prepped as Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2, Marvel Studios and directors Joe and Anthony Russo later decided to split up the films a bit more. Their production was still connected, but all involved were keen to stress that the films are standalone in nature. Of course, Avengers: Infinity War ends on a big cliffhanger, so that's not quite true. In fact, it looks possible there may have been even more misdirection looking forward to Avengers 4.

The marketing for Infinity War already included several moments that were not in the movie, and the Russos have admitted they handed out fake scripts on the set and even filmed alternate versions of scenes. But, there's one sequence shot during production of Avengers 3 that doesn't appear to be in the movie. So what's the deal with the filming at Durham Cathedral?

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT AVENGERS' DURHAM SHOOT

Last April, it was revealed that the cast and crew of Avengers were planning on heading to Durham Cathedral to shoot key scenes. The news came as Infinity War was in full swing, shortly after the Edinburgh leg of production (quite clearly seen in Infinity War). Fans were instantly excited for the film to utilize the location, best known as the backdrop for some of Hogwarts in the early Harry Potter films, and was assumed to be a stand in for something classical.

Once filming did begin there a few days after the confirmation, the first images started to surface, with one that featured the stand-in for Rocket Raccoon (there were never reports of Sean Gunn - who plays Kraglin in the MCU but also does the on-set performance for Rocket - showing up for these scenes) and Chris Hemsworth was confirmed to be in the city. The only other actual clue we have about the Durham shoot is a tease from the Russo brothers themselves. Prior to wiping their social media accounts, they posted an image at Durham with Mjolnir. This is a big deal considering Mjolnir was destroyed in Thor: Ragnarok leading to Thor, Rocket, and Groot going on an adventure to craft Stormbreaker.

Mjolnir's presence around may actually provide more details and possibly confusion. Marvel filmed a major sequence for Avengers: Infinity War in Edinburgh that saw Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Team Cap battle the Black Order. However, there were also instances of several other cast members reporting to set out that way; Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson and others were all seen. Edinburgh and Durham are a few hours apart from each other (one's in Scotland, the other England), but as none of those actors are in the Black Order sequence in Infinity War (and there's no obvious reason for the team to return to the Scottish capital in the next film), there's clearly something bigger going on.

WAS THE DURHAM SCENE FOR AVENGERS 3 OR 4?

The sequence shot at Durham could be part of Avengers 4, but let's first discuss the possibility that it could've been in Infinity War already. The inside of Durham from the set photos had patches of green screen so the VFX team can alter the location in post. Thanks to the Cathedral's towering interior, it could be that this was a stand-in for Nidavellir. Rocket is involved in that scene and so is Thor. The reason for Mjolnir isn't clear unless the Russos were just having fun with the internet and adding more misdirection. Crucially, Nidavellir is where Thor crafts Stormbreaker and it looks like they cut some sequences based on the trailers, so there is a chance Durham is in Avengers: Infinity War after all and is just impossible to distinguish.

The more plausible solution, though, is that the scene in Durham is actually for Avengers 4. Marvel Studios has talked ad nauseam about how difficult it was to align the schedules for all of the actors, so it's conceivable it may have worked best to film this sequence for Avengers 4 during the production of the previous movie. Indeed, given they were already in the UK, it's logistically much easier for the crew.
There is still the unlikely scenario a sequence was shot at Durham that didn't make it into the final cut, although of the scant information we have, not much adds up. Set photos showed Asgardian designs, there's not clear gap for another location to fit, and the presence of other actors lines up with unseen elements we're expecting in the sequel, like Hulk and Rocket working together...

HOW COULD THEY FACTOR INTO AVENGERS 4

If this Durham scene is part of Avengers 4, there's some telling reasons that it could be part of a key subplot. We suspect the scene includes at least Rocket, Thor, Hulk, and Valkyrie, with it also suggested Robert Downey Jr. and Nick Fury heading to this set too. Neither Jackson or Downey were ever actually spotted in Durham, however so their involvement is not a certainty. Just going by the definitively spotted characters, though, this makes a lot of sense. All of these heroes are on the cosmic side, so would fit together without much difficulty, and Valkyrie is clearly being held back for Avengers 4 given her absence in Avengers: Infinity War.

As to what specific use this scene could have in the currently-untitled Avengers 4, the best guess is its part of a new quest for Thor. These characters all center around him, and if the film will once again split the heroes off in sub-groups to better balance personality and tone they're a pretty great team. We know Avengers 4 will be dabbling with time travel, so the presence of Asgard and Mjolnir could definitely factor into that: could this actually be a scene of the film's heroes visiting Hel and seeing their fallen comrades?
