What do you have going on in your family, living, rec, great, bedroom areas? What kind of TV, Audio System, etc... how did you get them, why... what's the story....

Do you like what you have, or what would you want to get in the future....

Let's keep it to actually tangable goals.... I'm sure we'd all like to own a $100,000 Audio system... but I really doubt anyone here can afford that....

I've owned very few TVs, and have had only one surround sound unit that was ruined in the "big" move a year and a half ago...

The first TV I ever bought was a 20" Song Vega "Flat Screen" about 10 years ago. Yes, the glass screen was flat, but it was about 20" deep, and wieghed easily over 100lbs...
That was my baby for years, my main TV when I moved out, and was mine and my fiances main TV at our apartment for atleast a year.

Later we upgraded to a 37" Flat Panel... and put the old Vega in the bedroom....

Wedding Gift a couple days ago... a 50" Samsung, series 650 Flat Panel... it's pretty cool... got that redish tint on the top and bottom... put the 37" in the bedroom... vega is now in the garage...

I also have a PS3 in the great room, use that for blue ray... and I got a xbox 360 on the bedroom...

I need a surround sound for my great room... BUT, I do not want any rear speakers due to the Rugrat, he would just ruin them... so I'm looking for a decent, fairly priced 2.1 surround sound system... almost bought the Bose 1-2-3... but so many people online hate Bose, so I'm holding off... plus it seemed rather expensive, over a G

Right now in my mancave/theater room I have:

TV: Mitsubishi 55" rear projection HDTV 1080i. it's about 6 years old. I'd like to upgrade to Mitsubishi's 73" DLP HDTV, but the wife is making me wait until the 55" dies.

Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR605 7.1. This thing is awesome.

Subwoofer: Polk 250W I can shake the entire house with some Blu-Rays

Blu-Ray: Panasonic DMP-BD30 player.

Xbox 360 hooked into the receiver as well
Wii hooked up tot he tv and collecting dust.

Bedroom: 32" Samsung LCD flat panel

Bar: 26" Vizio LCD

I just had my 27" Samsung TV replaced, it broke on me basically. The TV that I got to replace it for my bedroom is a 26" Toshiba 26AV502R LCD flat panel TV. Just hooked up last night.

It's got something called ''Game Mode'' for videogames, something about quickening players reaction times by having shorter frame delays and "enhances the gaming experience by reducing the amount of time it takes for the signal to travel from the game controller to the TV."

The strange thing, though, is that it's advertised as a 720p TV. The labeling on the showroom floor in Bestbuy had it at 720p, the box of the TV has it labeled as 720p. But, the manual and the TV itself goes to 1080p. I set the HDMI on my PS3 and Xbox 360 to 1080p, and it takes. It looks better than before.

That was a welcome surprise, even though it kinda doesn't make sense.

So, right now I've got my PS3 running at 1080p. The blu-ray DVD's look amazing right now. I've yet to run any games yet on it. The Dark Knight and Quantum of Solace are the only Blu-Ray DVD's I've got, but they look wonderful running on it now.

as for surround sound billy, check out crutchfield.com i know you have a child but they have a set of speakers taht are "flat" and can be put up on the wall and aren't noticeable

I still just have a standard def 21" TV.
Older 5.1 surround sound system that was super cheap (when bought new) but still works well
VCR
DVD-player
LaserDisc player
9 video game consoles

In my computer room (besides my computer of course):
Commodore 1702 video monitor
Atari 2600
Coleco ADAM
Commodore 64
...still need to find a place in here so I can hook my Odyssey 2 up again.

I'd like to have a separate "gaming" room but don't have the space in this house therefore older consoles are in my computer room and newer ones in my living room.
Would love to get a HD-tv and a new surround sound system..but as of now it's not financially possible to do either.

Keep an eye out on Black Friday. HDTV's are pretty much the norm now, so prices are lower than they've ever been I believe. Chances are, you might spot a fantastic deal on for Black Friday.

I don't even think there would be a black friday sale that would be in my price range.
I'm a full time student that works only 2 days a week, after bills and food I'm pretty much done.
