At today's press junket for The Punisher, director Lexi Alexander talked about being sent other comic book movie scripts. Not one to settle for that simple of a statement, I asked which scripts she had been sent. She mentioned that she was sent the script for Jonah Hex, and really liked it.

After the junket I had to ask her more about it.

LR: Do you like the script so far?

Lexi: I do. I like it even more that Mr. Josh Brolin is still attached. Who knows if he'll stay, but it's more exciting than I thought. You get a story like this you think, "Oh God, I'm going to be doing the same thing over and over again." but it's really, really interesting.

LR: A lot of fans want to see this on the big screen.

Lexi: Ya. I would change some things in the script, but you know. It's not there yet. I'm sure there's many, many directors up for the same thing.

Personally, after Green Street Hooligans, and now The Punisher, I think Lexi would be a great choice for Jonah Hex. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

I don't think the script really needs changing, it's very strong as it stands. Perhaps a little trim here and there, the Civil War ghost visions could probably afford to go.

would be interesting, but since i dont know her work at all, i would have to wait to judge her untill i see punisher. Though i do hope wb can get a new director on board for the film.

^ there's that hooligans movie with Frodo and now the Punisher one :funny:

well like i said, i never see any of her past work, and the only one i will be seeing is punisher. So i dont know if she is the best person to take over.

^ well, if she does well, why not..?

Punisher looks like a bad 80's dtv from the commercials I've seen, but I'll wait for the whole film before judging. She doesn't exactly seem an inspired choice though.

yea it may look cheesy and all that, but we do know we will be getting alot of blood and guts so that is atless a good thing for punisher.

hmm I edited the title right after I posted but it still looks the same--just realized, heh

Yeah....Punisher looks baaaaaaad....as in not good.

Some have even said, that it may be just as bad as the Dolph Lundren Punisher film!?!

Now thats bad! :o

Where you've been?! :hehe:

I like Hooligans a lot. But I'm not sure why she would want to do this after Punisher, or maybe that's why.

Not sure if Alexander is a good fit for Jonah Hex.

or maybe not, there seems a need for a general jonah hex thread now, there seems like more and more talk about it.

Love Hooligans, Punisher looks a little cartoony and should be more grounded but I dont think it looks as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Lexi's pretty gritty and violent and suit the style of the Crank guys if they are continuing with their script. Could be a good mesh.

wow, so now we can add the Jona hex fans to the people who "may" be going to see Warzone. As a Punisher fan I hope she doesn't disappoint you guys.

One of the reviewers on RT said the Lundgren one was better. That's possibly the worst insult I've ever heard.

^ one guy compared Lexi to Uwe Boll. That's a bad insult too

Now THAT^ is the worst insult

So any of you guys see warzone yet, if so what did you think. i am planning to see it this coming week when i am home on winter break from college.

I've not seen it yet, but I plan to.

My prediction is that if Lexi Alexander gets hired to direct Jonah, then Brolin will not be involved. :o

Just an educated hunch......:wow:

Brolin will probably bring his own director aboard, and maybe WB floated some names to him to see what he thought.

yea who knows what is going to happen maybe they will get another director on board quick and get it rolling soon or maybe and with wb's track record film could fall into development hell like all others dc films we have yet to get.
