Lexi updated her blog and she talks a bit about the delay

UPDATE... (4/7/08)

I spoke to Ray Stevenson on the phone a couple of days ago. He is still in New Orleans, playing a Vampire. I wanted to update him on how the director’s cut screening went which he knew was happening on April 1st. (I thought it was fitting, fools day) ;-)

See, what a lot of people don’t know about Ray is that besides his wicked acting skills, he is also funny as hell. He answered the phone with: "So, how much of a committee cut are we going to end up with?” I almost fell out of my chair laughing and trust me, I needed a good laugh that day. A screening like that is pretty tense. You sit there thinking: “****, what if I’m crazy and I made a piece of **** film?”

Well, thank God it went well and, although I'll probably have to compromise on a few minor notes, it’s not nearly as bad as some of my filmmaker friends predicted it would be. I guess I got away with an actual okay studio experience (knocking on wood since it’s not quite over yet).

They also moved our release date to December 5th, which is, according to my reps, a much, much better date. I myself would have thought that people will think twice about going to see an extremely violent movie the closer it gets to Jesus’ B-day, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or whatever other holy holiday you’re celebrating. Well, the box office records prove different and instead, all you sick ****s get more blood thirsty that time of year. (And I say that with lovingly affection, cause I’m relying on all the sick ****s to show up).

All right folks, that’s it for today, I leave you with a pic of The Punisher himself, Jeff Wolf his stunt double and little me in the middle. Aaahhh! Good memories.

Sounds good to me. I'm glad the studio isn't gonna butcher cut the movie.

So much for her not blogging anymore I guess? All the better. I can't believe they've already shown off their first cut. That's a lot of time between now and November.

Nice photograph. Everything's looking good. Maybe the new release date will work.

Hehe, that picture is great. We'll see if that date is better than previous. But it's known that September isn't the best month. But I do think Punisher would fit better in the spring time.

Like the skull the Jeff dude is wearing.

I like that pic, and that skull! Oh please don't dissapoint us loyal Punisher fans Lexi!

thats the skull from the '04 movie. Im sure thats just a general punisher logo shirt, and not from this movie. Its just the old logo with some erosion/spray paint textures on it. Looks cool though.

lexi's blog was updated a few days ago, but no mention of the movie.

I don't mean to make this big of an assumption, but she seemed to forget about the film? I mean, not even a mention...

It will be funny when this movie comes out in theatres in December and everyone who thinks it's just going straight to DVD are wrong.

I hope I'm wrong. But at the same time I hope I'm right. Go fig'

I really want the movie to be good but I have the gut feeling that it will be worse than 2004. I think Lexi has good intentions but the way Jane left along with the multiple script rewrites, I just wish the rights would go back to Marvel. LGF has no idea how to run this franchise and it shows through all of the BS that has been spewed throughout the internet for the past 4 years. There's part of me that wants this movie to tank so Marvel would make a true Punisher movie and possibly get Thomas Jane back as well.

LGF are the studio that made four Saw films (well it's gonna five this year and then a sixth one will be next year).

Which is also one of the things I'm dreading about the movie, is that it'll be an action version of a Saw movie. All flashy violence and no real substance.

ha... she didn't forget about the movie, if you go like 2 updates back, she talks about how she's not going to mention the film anymore because the studio won't allow her to talk about certain stuff so she chosen to not deal with the politics and stop giving further updates on the film. shortly after that the movie website went up and they really need to update that freakin thing...

YOU CAN'T ALWAYS SAY WHAT YOU WANT...

But one sentence wouldn't really hurt the entire production, would it?

"Okay, so I'm currently editing on The Punisher: Warzone, with Marvel.."

I mean. Would that hurt the film? I understand why she can't, though.

She mentioned editing it and previewing it in a previous blog. :oldrazz:
