'Lioness': Zoe Saldaña to Lead Taylor Sheridan's Newest Paramount+ Series

Lioness follows the CIA program of the same name, with Saldaña portraying Joe, the station chief of the program. She oversees the undercover military group in their mission to take down some of the world's most dangerous terrorists. The CIA's Lioness program was created to respect the local customs of Middle Eastern countries by having female soldiers search local women as opposed to male recruits.

Binged the first six episodes over the past couple days. This show starts out a bit jingoistic and leans into some typical stereotypes about Islam and terrorism but at least it also doesn’t paint the CIA in a great light either. Zoe is really good in the lead role, and I’m equally impressed by Laysla de Oliveira (Cruz), who probably has the most difficult role in the show. Also, I’m pretty much in love with Stephanie Nur (Aaliyah), and I think she might be my top pick for Talia in Brave & the Bold.
I’m glad we finally got confirmation in the last episode that there is an attraction between Aaliyah and Cruz because if it didn’t happen, I was seriously going to be furious at the show for queerbaiting, lol.

I do think the writing is bad in some spots, like when they torture Cruz to “break” her AFTER she’s made contact with the target, so the next time she sees her, she has to make up a BS story about why she’s covered in bruises. Equally stupid was bringing her on the op in Texas, because if she were to get killed; then the op with Aaliyah is completely blown. But I guess it’s a TV show.

Glad it’s coming back. Like I stated above, the first season had issues but I thought it was good overall. Also, I’m really wanting Laysla for Wonder Woman in the DCU.

Odd I was always under the impression that this was a limited series, should have known better considering Taylor Sheridan is behind it.

Aspiring actors, take note. The next time an agent tells you that you need to change your name to make it more palatable for mainstream audiences, just remember that a guy named Thad Luckinbill landed a role on a major TV show.

Season 1 was fantastic! Glad there's another season. :D

New S2 trailer dropped

Is Laysla not even in this season? If so, that would be a major disappointment. She was the heart and soul of season 1, especially considering how cruel and conniving most of the other protagonists were.

I could have sworn I saw her in the 1st trailer for S2

Glad there wasn't a long wait between seasons. The first season was amazing!

Yeah this is a pretty badass little show and Zoe Saldana's character is equally ruthless as she is unpredictable which is what makes her such an interesting character IMO along with Laysla's character.

As far as the action goes its easily some of the best I've seen on television and that battle in the finale felt like it was straight out of Black Hawk Down which is probably why I loved it even more.

Genesis Rodriguez deserves a shout out too because I've never really known her to be a strong dramatic actress, but she really impressed me throughout this season with her performance.
