i think if this movie is successful and provides a franchise they need to start with the trilogy rooted by going

Movie one Rita
Movie 2 evil green ranger/ him turning good and helping them against a monster
And movie 3 zedd.

Opening a week behind BatB probably wasnt their smartest idea. But just as I saw little girls dressed up as Belle, hopefully we'll see kids dressed up as PR and if word is mouth is good, it should at least make back its budget in the US lol.

Honestly I don't feel like they did enough to advertise the Power Rangers. At least not in the way they advertised the tv show or the first movie.

:whatever: :whatever: :whatever: Beauty & the Beast can GTFO. Seriously, I'm baffled at how so many ppl want to see a shot-for-shot remake of the same movie that came out twenty six years ago. UGH. What were Lionsgate thinking??

I completely agree. I saw BatB last night and I was rolling my eyes the whole time. It's so by the numbers and safe, which I understand why because of the children (yawnnnn), but it's also in the way it's shot and edited. There's nothing interesting going on with the camera work or style, nothing interesting going on with the cinematography....just nothing. Everyting was so point and shoot..plain, basic, average. And did the beast reeeeeeally need to be CG? I mean, comeeee onnnnn lol.

Everything about this new PR has been more of a risk in comparison. Everything from the designs, to the focus on characters, to the tone of the film, to the amount of action (or lack thereof)....and I would much rather a film fail by taking risks than succeed by being so overly safe and basic. I don't understand why PR couldn't wait til April. That month has a bit more breathing room than March! :/

Not sure what they were thinking opening after BatB but then again it sounds like low balling to me.

I think that they were thinking that Kong and Logan wouldn't be reviewed so well, and wouldn't have the legs they are having.

And lol at harry for ranting about how B&B doing so well. It is pulling on nostalgia just like what PR wants to do.

Did you really expect much from Saban Brands and Lionsgate in terms of being smart with their release date? Put Lionsgate on the back burner for a second and think about how Saban Brands did nothing but take recycle footage of Super Sentai shows and simply make their own story out of it and cash in on the whole thing. Even going as far as to take Sentai footage from different Sentai shows that had no connection to the show they were making. They made it work for a while didn't they?

But there were signs that Saban Brands didn't have the creative talent nor the brains to plan their own concepts.

Example:
The episode entitled, "Green No More", where Zedd steals Tommy's powers and makes his own Rangers......

Does this, look cleverly done?

You would assume that these were Luchadores from Telemundo.

And that is just one thing of many, and let's not get started on the first movie.

Saban Brands, isn't exactly good with how they make or plan their product.

Funny it's tracking to do 33mil because my prediction is 33mil to 38mil right now.

I know, right? It's literally the same exact thing & for that, it looks sooo boring & bland. Just like the Jungle Book & Cinderella. At least Maleficent did something new with the material (and it's coincidentally the only one of Disney's live action remakes I saw) the Beast & the talking kitchen appliances all look like crap & veer into uncanny valley territory.

Power Rangers is trying to do something fresh with the material. I'm going to be so pissed if Beauty & The Beast: the shot-for-shot remake nobody asked for-- robs our chance of seeing Tommy & and the Green Ranger in Power Rangers 2 :cmad:

Yes Power Rangers has done something fresh by copying every other Superhero movie. :funny:

Nothing about that tracking surprises me. Like I said before August would have been a much better release date for it, but someone also mentioned April and outside Fast and Furious 8 the second half of that month is pretty much dead. Lionsgate just didn't think this one through.

How many superhero movies do you know of that allow 5 kids in high school to morph into powerful fighters to defend a planet due to an advanced alien race??

And Beauty & the Freaky CGI Thing is copying every other love story of "it's what on the inside that matters" cliché & ripping off it's own source material by being the same exact thing.

I laughed as well. :funny: PR rangers will probably suffer the same fate as X-Men: Apocalypse. A movie that comes out 5-10 years too late.

You're trolling. And I know the argument you're trying to make but it doesn't work here.

Exactly. The concept is something we've never seen before
