does anyone else here think that a live action gundam movie could have the potential to be a very good movie series. i think if done it should be based on the original MSG series focussing on the one year war and the rivalry between amuro and char. just for funzies here are some actors i think would be great in their roles

amuro- freddie highmore (i know what you are thinking, the skinny kid from charlie and the chocolate factory, well check out some recent pictures of him and he is starting to grow up, plus he is a good actor and has a great resemblance to amuro)

char- joseph gordon levitt. this would just be incredible

bright- sam claflin, rising british actor

syala- dakota fanning

lala- freida pinto

honestly if these movies followed the time line that the movie trilogy based on the show did it would be a great trilogy IMO. what say you?

they already have a live action Gundam film and it was not that great.

I think that is a pretty good basis to set a live action version of MSG (just add the battle of Odessa). Casting would be a bit difficult for a movie with a story like Gundam. It's very important that they cast actors who look young (most of the main characters on White Base were under 20) but still look mature. But that has the added risk of of CW type casting that they do for High School characters, but look like they are in college or later.

Another added concern is how they would design the mobile suits themselves. My greatest fear is that they took a Bayformers approach to the mechs. I think the best case scenario would be to look like the 08th MS team designs. They are slightly bulkier and a bit more detailed than the designs we see in the original series, but I am sure if we got a movie there would be some changes.

agreed that the mobile suit design would be key. i think realism would be the key making these movies well and for a mass audience
