A new survey by ABI Research revealed that PlayStation 2 owners' loyalty to Sony is higher than Xbox and Nintendo console owners when considering a next generation console purchase. The research firm surveyed 1725 gamers of whom 42% were PlayStation 2 owners, 55% were Xbox owners and 54% were GameCube owners.
Although the amount of Xbox owners was higher than PS2 owners, the survey showed that 60% of those who own a PlayStation 2 are considering getting a PS3, while 45% of Xbox owners are looking to buy an Xbox 360 and 46% of GameCube owners plan to buy a Nintendo Wii.
"We believe that Sonys much larger installed base combined with higher loyalty among current generation owners could translate into significant gains for them if they can, in fact, convert these prospective owners," said Wolf. "Microsoft and Nintendo, while still seeing strong overall loyalty, do not enjoy the same intensity."
So now you know it, your loyalty to Xbox sucks compared to Sony owners' devotion to their 1080p Cell Broadband Engine powered Ridddddddddddddddgggggggee Raaaaaaaacccceeeeerrrrrrrrrr.
