The Longshot limited series in the 80's was one of my favorite all time limited series. Art Adams art and Ann Nocenti's words just meshed into a terrific fantasy tale.
I think in the right hands it could be adapted in a great film. The key points would need to be:
- keeping the dark tone of the story with light comedy mixed in.
- portraying the zany, maniacal genius that is Mojo.
- adapt the entire Rita/Spiral transformation
I think the introduction of the Mojoverse into the Marvel continuim opens up many creative avenues of story telling. Even in the comics the potential in Mojoverse was under utilized.
Think about it. Whatever, superhero gimmick you could dream up could be realized and ligitimized in Mojoverse. A whole reality of slaves designed to play parts in this televised universe ruled by the completely mad spineless ones.
Think of it like this - Fox Studios (aka the spineless ones) ripoff storylines from other realities (aka Marvel) create shows with these pirated characters but are ultimately unable to control the heroes they create. Resulting in much action, violence, humor and general chaos when the heroes rise up to fight the studio.
Let me know what you think, other ideas, casting suggestions.
