I want to buy a new MP3 player, but I don't have a clue about which one to get. I was looking at the iPod Shuffle, but I'm a little iffy on it.

So, uh... suggestions are welcomed.

PS. I'm looking to spend less than $100.

You won't find anything good under $100, think of it like computers...you can only really go for either Microsoft (Zune) and Macintosh (iPod).

The Zune is a piece of ****, you just need to get either a shuffle or a nano.

You're not going to get anything very good for under $100.

Okay, let me redefine the question.

I want the best MP3 player I can get for under $100.

It'd be nice if it had a play button.

If you have a PSP, just buy a larger memory card.

I'm hesitant on iPod because I don't want to deal with iTunes, and I've heard about a fair amount of problems with it.

Besides that, I don't have a USB 2 port, which may **** up some of the transfers.

There really isn't anything else left, there used to be a lot more MP3's but now you're pretty much stuck with a Zune or an iPod.

You could go the route of a cell phone though.

You want something under $100 and since you were looking at the shuffle, I guess you don't much for the sound quality but want something small.

How about this:

I  my Creative Zen Micro. It was over $200 when I got it though....but considering the advances in technology happen so fast I bet you could get a great deal on it now.

I've got the Sansa 8 Gig.
it's pretty cool because It has a FM tuner, and you can record voice and radio

My friend had that. It broke in a bout a week.
I've hade about 5 mp3 players in the last 3 years.I currently have an Ipod Nano and Sony mp3 walkman which has a very good battery life.

I went through 3 Ipod Nanos in a 1 month period they either froze completley or shut off and never turned on again.

.....I wouldn't recommend it..

I bought this a Samsung...they have other choices as far as look..

It looks bland but it has worked for 3 months without a problem and it works through Windows Media Player instead of iTunes.

I have an 8 GB Creative Zen Microphoto and I've NEVER had a problem with it except for the fact that it's much harder to find cases and such for Creative mp3 players.

For what you're wanting to do and for how much you want to spend, the iPod Shuffle is the way to go. $79 for a 1G.

I've currently got an iRiver, and I'm pretty happy with it (Except for the menu joystick.)

I just need to replace it because something's gone screwy with the flash memory and it mixes songs (Rather annoying when you go from The Killers to a Danny Elfman score.)
