Yeah, I'm getting tired of this neighborhood, too much crap going on with crime and stuff. Anyway, I'm moving to NYC. Crap, I wish I could stay in one place for a while.

Damn, my life's erratic

Anyone else here live in the Big Apple? How is it?

Man, I'm sorry! (Although I'd like to move around a lot at this point in my life :))

Moving is my dream right now...can we switch?

It's the greatest city in the World.

Look on the bright side, you've got so much experience to gain from moving around...

Great city and I miss it. What do you do that allows you to move so much.

I don't think that's your wish. It seems you get too bored being in any one place for too long. That's the problem. Therefore you will continue to move after NYC and after that and after that, etc. I live here and want to get the hell out just to experience something different but since I've traveled to a few places in the US I know that a big metropolis is where I belong. I can't function anywhere else. Living in LA for example would kill me because it's badly underdeveloped compared to nyc and that's probably the second biggest city in the US.

i guess it is that, but i ran away when i was 11 so i have..... issues with staying one place for a while. **** happens to your mind when youre hooked on crack at age 12

Just be prepared to pay crazy rental fees every month.

Welcome to the northeast JoyfulRobSlacks

Move to Indiana. Very little crime here. Well except for Gary, & Nap.

Good choice of city. The East Coast is a fun place to be.

That was my first question - you can afford to live in NYC proper? :wow: I have a friend who works there but lives in the snazzy, new apartment complex in Newark and she's still paying 2x what I'm paying per month in rent. (I live in the LA area, but way out of the city. I find no need to live in downtown, or even Pasadena.)

Then again I'm cheap. My next place isn't even an apartment, it's a room in a nice, new house. :)

Of course not. But I think this has more to do with my lack of motivation to make more money even though I can. Still who the hell wants to spend a majority of their paycheck to pay rent every month? You literally have no savings. I have no idea why so many ppl rent apartments for $2000-$2500 a month and later have to move or be evicted because they can no longer pay their rent.

Downtown LA is a complete sh**hole. It reminds me of nyc circa 1976. The only thing good about it is you can get free tickets to films kind of easy :)

Oh, I know. I have about as much savings as my sound recordist friend who makes almost 3x what I do a year, but she's paying $2000/month on a mortgage by herself. Still, it's scary to think that $2000/month is lower than a good number of rentals in Pasadena and LA. Is having a place in a city that's happenin' REALLY worth that?

I love NYC, wouldn't mind living there at all.......but I love where I live as well.....and just want to change apartments........but good luck to ya.
