So I'm surprised I haven't seen any talk around here for Lost Girls, Alan Moore's new book.

For those that haven't heard, Lost Girls (portions of which were previously published in some very indie books) is being collected into one massive $75 set. It's not unlike League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, in that it features a crossover between several characters from older literature - Dorothy Gale, Alice, and Wendy Darling. Except.... it's them sharing stories of their sexual escapades with each other.

So it's basicly porn. But it's Alan Moore. So there's a whole "pornography as art" debate going on. Lots of retailers are refusing to carry it (for a variety of reasons). I'm personally really curious to check it out and see what it's like, if it is indeed porn or art

Here's the debate over at LITG

I've read a lot about it. And while it sounds interesting in a way, and it is by Alan Moore, I really have no desire to buy pornography.

And this most definitely is pornography, Moore has been adamant that he wants it viewed as pornography.

LOL. But it's ALAN MOORE pornography!

i dont think i want to hear about the sexual conquests of wendy darling....that was a whole island of males and only her....the tramp

the CBR article does mention something about "wait until you get to the part with the crocodile"....

It doesn't matter whether it is porn or art. It's a win-win situation!

from what I've been hearing probably a 9, but that's just because I haven't heard about and beastiality or scat yet.

I think it's brilliant! I can't wait to read it!

Yep. Don't feel compelled to return to Philly. But I will visit next year when my older brother gets married.

So it's like a comedy?:)

and he learned that after posting a thread about wanting to start a comic shop:)

oh, you may act tough, but I know every weekend you volunteer at the library and soup kitchen for homeless orphan immigrants with dyslexia and cancer. You're a very caring man at heart, Jake :)

I wish that the world's scientists would all quit trying to cure cancer and start working on making hoverboards and ghostbusters proton packs. Seriously, they haven't even tried making cool stuff like that yet, but the all-important cancer gets generation after generation of scientist working on it. I think terminal cancer patients would like to zip through traffic on hoverboards at least once before they die.

I remember all the rumors after Back to the Future 2 came out. Oh, Marty McFly, how could you lie to us? :(
