An online follow-up to his magazine interview, Leterrier talks through the trailer. I'll summarise the main points:

*Doc Samson is Leonard Samson, not Samson Adams. (As the leaked script draft by Norton indicated).
*Marvel and Norton were reluctant to cast Roth.
*Abomination can use his bones as weapons.
*Abomination's skin reflects light: he's actually green, but looks orange in the final fight because of fire.
*The trailer was delayed because Leterrier wanted to perfect the CG shots (after the 2003 Superbowl fiasco), and they're still unfinished.
*Final battle is 26 minutes.

doesnt mena the fighting is 26.
just to make everything sure. the fight will be like all fights.

the effects are not finished? ok.

26 minutes??? You have got to be kidding me... I hope that includes the Abomination terrorizing the city and fighting the army as well...

Can't imagine why.
*Abomination can use his bones as weapons.
Stupid.

Figured as much.

Really, the only thing they need to work on is giving the characters more weight and blending them into the background better. The models themselves are fine.
*Final battle is 26 minutes.
Okay that might be overkill.

well atleast we know why the effects arent really top notch so far.

According to the interview:

But our final scene, our final battle – unlike a normal movie where the final fight scene is six minutes long, ours is 26 minutes long! So you get 26 minutes of two monsters pummelling each other through New York City, jumping up and down, ripping helicopters from the sky and stuff.

:wow:

I'm very much down for a 26 minute fight scene.

He means the entire sequence is going to be 26 minutes.

26 minutes is just too much if you ask me. I fear this will be like the burly brawl, in Matrix Reloaded, where I actually started looking at my watch half-way through the fight.

I won't mind if it's 26 minutes of pre-Hulk terrorizing and destruction.

Like for the first part of that 26 minutes, it's Abom destroying the city and killing lots of people. General Ross is trying to figure out what to do about it and eventually the scene we saw in the trailer happens.

Where Norton falls out of the plane to fight Abom. If it's seriously 26 minutes of Hulk on Abom action...that could very well be overkill.

Overkill...that's coming from me...someone who loved how long the fight in Transformers was at the end. Only thing was, that involved multiple characters. This only has two aside from civilians.

Interesting that the trailer playing in theaters has an added close-up shot of Hulk screaming for Betty...

Its not just gonna be 26 minutes of Hulk and Abomination fighting each other. I'm sure there will be military helicopters, Abomination killing innocent civilains and so on.

Well it says that the run up in the trailer is just the start of one big 26 minute showdown.

Sorry to be the non-fan raining on the parade but that doesn't sound good for the movie at all. Not only am I extremely apprehensive of any fight scene lasting that long, but that is a huge chunk of the story they are taking up, and to me it means that the plot, and the characters aren't strong enough to carry the film beyond the special effects and action.

Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I think it's not possible that the final battle will be 26 minutes long. Yeah, Mr. Leterrier this movie is expensive and the studio wants money from us but if you want to see us in the theater you must show us something better then this teaser trailer... :whatever::oldrazz::woot:

26 minutes is the perfect length for a fight. One minute for each letter of the alphabet.

26 minute final sequence is awesome. It's not gonna be a punch fest only like family guy with the closet monkey. LOL The whining will never end no matter what. LOL

Oh and like I said...the f/x are not final yet. None of them are.

this interview is definitly there to clear up alot of questions thats alot of fans have about the trailer. Good stuff!

If there isn't enough action, people complain.
If there is too much action, people complain.

That little interview was comforting to me.

-What we saw was great, and it will be better.
-He disambiguated why Abomination is changed, and its a good explanation.
-I don't see how him using his bones as weapons is stupid, sounds hardcore.
-If there is enough happening, and it sounds like it, it could be the best draw out on screen battle ever.
-Leterrier for some reason had to fight for Roth, but thank goodness he did.
-This basically captures the spirit of the comics
-3 minute transformation scene :wow:

Nay sayers shall bow their heads in shame on the 13th of June. :woot:

26 minute fight scene?

meh, it means the final act of the film is 26 minutes or at least the big fight part of the film is 26 minutes.

considering pretty much this is going to be 70% of all the hulk action we get, then i'm not sure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.

perhaps quoting the time was not a good idea.

I believe you are mistaken about this

I think it means he will be transforming early on in the film, minute 3 rather than them spending 3 whole minutes to do one single transformation in crazy detail....
