I'd rather have the cat than the coffee, lol.

So, remember that leg injury I got jumping rope? The one that was feeling better? Come to find out, my Achilles tendon tore away from the calf muscle. My wife told me I needed to have the doc look at it. She said I don't feel pain like normal people so I went. Unfortunately, it took another 2 weeks to see the guy who actually knew what he was talking about. They said I needed an MRI before seeing anyone, but the orthopedic guy disagreed. He said he could tell what happened just by looking at it. So, now they've got me in a boot for 3 weeks (1 to go) and he says there's an 85% chance I won't need surgery. He said if they had just sent me to him, it would have been higher.

Anyway, I'm looking at the bright side. The tendon is fine and the calf muscle is fine.....they're just not connected anymore. :funny:

Also, I don't know what the hell Nancy Sinatra was talking about....this boot ain't made for walkin'....LOL

Similar thing happened to me. I sprained my foot halfway into a half marathon back in May (still finished the race wildly). Took a month off from running (continued to strength train though) and just RICEd. My wife pushed me to go to the doctor following that month and that's when I found out I had actually broken it. Basically strained my peroneal tendon so hard that it snapped the bone on my outer midfoot. I didn't need surgery thankfully, but spent the next two months in that damn boot. I will say you have a much more positive outlook than I had haha. I was so miserable not being able to run and feeling trapped in that thing most of the summer.

But I'm coming up on six weeks now that I've been out of it and have been training for my next half marathon in a couple weeks. Been grueling, but I'm just grateful it was an easy recovery all things considered.

Yeah.....those boots take some getting used to. I go in on Monday after three weeks and the orthopedic doc says he can probably tell me whether or not it's healing the way he wants. I'm of the opinion that it isn't healing quite right and it's probably due to the primary care delayed me seeing the orthopedic guy by two weeks because they insisted I needed an MRI. Ortho doc said they were wrong....oh well. I did notice, however, that my calf is contracting somewhat when I (gently) move my foot so maybe that's a good sign.

Anyway, I wear another shoe with socks to prop up my heel on the other foot so I'm not like the leaning tower and hopefully won't develop any back issues because of it.

As far as my attitude, I'm pretty unflappable when it comes to stuff like this. I've always been kind of detached when it comes to my own personal stuff. It's not that I don't care, but I think about stuff other people have to go through and feel lucky.

I really want to try going to a Korean beef restaurant.

Oh man! Selling TP on the black market was going to be my retirement plan. :(

Now what am I supposed to do with 6000 rolls of two ply Charmin?

I’m actually a Members Mark TP guy. (Sam’s Club brand). It’s the softest out there. It’s like wiping with a flushable t shirt that’s been wrapped in cotton puffs.

Got some unexpected medical issues. I’m hoping for the best, but can use whatever good vibes I get my way.
Sorry to hear. Best of luck mate, hope it turns out ok.

Going to be bad for Florida. :(
Is it going through some of the same areas? Poor people only just trying to get back to normality and could be struck again.

It's a slightly different path, but it's the same area, more or less. But Helene was a Category 4 when it hit, I think.
