I actually tried that just now, to see if it would work, but of course the thing is out of battery because it hasn't been charged.

Anyway, more context: My sister, her kids, and her husband were staying with us for a couple of weeks, and it has been nonstop drama the entire time. They are both drug addicts in a toxic relationship, they have stolen my dad's tools, driven my parent's vehicles without permission, and was likely pawning their stolen goods for drug money. It got so bad my parents started locking the house up while they were living in our fifth-wheel. My mother finally cut them off yesterday and told them to get the **** out.

So I think he stole my Kindle for the purpose of pawning it and getting money for his drugs. So I am going to likely de-register it and get a new one.

At least they are gone now. Christ.

I'm so sorry that happened. My Kindle is my favorite device.

I had a relative with a similar issue. His gf's brother got him hooked after convincing to sell instead they started using. He's clean now and 8 years sober, but he would pawn or give away all his possessions just for drugs.

We drove up to Boston. We're at the Science Museum. Had a cool train exhibit with fantastic train villages. Must have taken them ages to build.
