I think folks are blowing it out of proportion since the negative reviews are out there. It's certainly flawed as hell, but if this were the first Marvel/Netflix show I don't think it'd be getting the hate it's getting. Like I said before Iron Fist isn't bingable like Daredevil or Luke Cage. It's a slow burn like Jessica Jones. That makes it seem aimless/directionless until it gets near the end and motivations become clearer.

But there's a lot of good in there too. Colleen Wing's subplot was handled the best since it wasn't developed in short spurts, but spread out through a few consecutive episodes.

If you guys could refrain from posting Iron Fist spoilers, I'd really appreciate it; I'm on holidays and probably won't be able to watch it until next week.

Not shocked to see Beauty take down BvS's March record. The wife an I went last night and I have never seen my theater so jam packed in my life. So much so that I had to park several parking lots over. Kids galore. Had to settle for the bottom rows, which I never had to do before. Big numbers for Beauty incoming for sure.

What did your wife think of the movie?

She looks like a thicker, but ill version of Asia Argento. For those 90min or so, I loved her, dont know what to make of that issh, sure dont.

What did your wife think of the movie?

She enjoyed it. Being a hardcore Beauty fan, she gave it a 7/10. She went from asking "I hope there's enough singing scenes.." to "Well, there was TOO much singing scenes.." so that came as a bit of a shock to me since that's Disney's bread and butter but I agreed that they way overdid the singing and orchestra aspects of Beauty that they're so keen in getting away with. There were some tweaks here and there to the mythology but it translated over well to the big screen that wasn't detrimental to Beauty's source material. The ending was totally rushed though. Felt they put more of their eggs in the musical aspect of things rather than doing more to reveal how the house unwound from the curse. Overall, it was a typical Disney flick that knew exactly what to do to attract the crowd with happy endings.

First it wasnt really a trailer. Second while I didnt like it, The White Stripes are never annoying. Third, DC marketing for these movies have been pretty good so far, well above average.

Agreed about not seeing the trash mouse serves up doe.

The marketing is good in the sense of: "OK! FINE! I'LL SEE IT! JEEZ..".

The recent Kong: Skull Island marketing campaign can tell you everything you need to know about WB.

A guy from a rival studio told Deadline that the first trailer for Kong was unique and he thought to himself that he never saw anything like it, but as the marketing campaign continued he was meh on it.

Basically said that although WB ensured an OK-ish box office run with their messy marketing campaign that tried to see what sticks with audiences, they could have aimed a lot higher with a more.. focused marketing campaign.

BTW, a unpopular opinion. I prefer that the main thread remains locked when there is no big news dropping(like a trailer or a pic). Keeps the discussion civil and interesting, and stops repetetive arguments.

I'm familiar with the Korean plastic surgery thing. I nearly married a South Korean, and she admitted that she had eye work done. It's incredibly common in their culture. She was beautiful, but the reason I didn't stay with her is that she was superficial and vain. She was always checking herself in the mirror and fishing for compliments.
