This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]530947[/split]
What Snyder filmed is still there, people... It's not like Whedon will comb through the movie and remove all symbolism.

I just saw The Avengers again, what a great movie! It's funny, how we have this idea of the MCU and their "formula", which is quite factual, but it wasn't always like that; at least the first Avengers isn't quite as quippy as I remembered it and it's quite emotional and dark at certain points (I haven't noticed until now that at a certain point Fury basically asks Thor to torture Loki), the interaction between the characters is fluid, sophisticated and informative about their characters; and with all of the wisecracking through 15+ movies, is easy to forget how brave, badass and heroic Tony Stark can actually be.
I think that Whedon was the right choice to complete Zack's work; he's the guy behind Firefly, Buffy and the VERY dark and criminally underrated Angel, and for a minute there I forgot that I'm a big fan of his work too; despite the fact that I'm terribly sad for not seeing a 100% Snyder JL, I'm glad that Whedon was the one chosen to finish his work, more often than not is from collaboration between great artists that you get some of the better works.

I fking hate the first Avengers.Maybe I should give it another try. But the thing is AoU is probably my fave MCU film, so... I guess I trust Whedon. He can go dark and serious and highbrow when he wants and rather certainly Feige did not allow that in MCU.
OMG Consona I just added you to my friends list and now I feel I must reconsider LoL. How can you prefer AoU to the First Avengers? JK it's your opinion and I respect it; only stand out on AoU for me was Scarlet Witch.
