I’m 10 minutes in and God I wish Patty Jenkins would direct a Superman movie
Anyone have Direct TV? Does it just...pop up under the HBO Max channel? All I see is the trailer.
AgreedA lot of the time, WW84 is a total cheese fest. But I really liked it, and Pedro Pascal is so good in this. Gal and Chris Pine having more to do was also really fun.
Agreed I thought it was good. The cgi could've been much better given the time they had. My cringe moment is the goodbye between WW & Steve and her running away after that. But other than that it was good.WW84 is fun, the only cringe was the mall sequence which just had some terrible acting. Cheetah actually looks pretty good, even better in close-ups. I can see how some are turned off by the cheesiness but the messages in the film are pretty solid.
I enjoyed the first WW more but would still recommend this one.
Just finished WW1984, loved it, and I think I actually prefer it to the first one. Wiig was fantastic as Cheetah, and Pascal made a pretty damn great Maxwell Lord. Gadot and Pine were as great as ever. My main quibble is with how dark the lighting was for the final Wondy v Cheetah fight, but that's about it. 8/10.
I legit believe they were nervous about the backlash to Cats so putting that scene in darker light helps to eh, maybe hide a bit of the CGI imperfections. That’s why I thought the close ups in Cheetah were awesome. She looked creepy and the route Patty Jenkins went with her design were awesome.
The fight scene between her and Diana in the White House was much better imo. I liked how Jenkins managed to sort of incorporate the Priscilla Rich look in that scene before she transformed into the classic design we all know at the end. I hope we see more of her.
