Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Haven't gotten boosted yet (next week), but lawd the J&J shot tapped me up. Felt like I fell off my balcony.

Vaxxed and relaxed.

What I would give for 'The Batman' to get a rotten score

Just think of the meltdowns

I'm pretty sure we've seen those meltdowns multiple times now.

Went and saw the Original Ghostbusters at the theater...the Eternals trailer played and I had never seen it. Good hod that looks awful...

NWH trailer played too...still can't believe they are doing the One More Day crap. Also it is really apparent Marvel does not want Spidey to be a successful solo character because they share it with Sony.

Ghostbusters was awesome though :)

Uh huh. Be nowhere near as bad as the Snyder Cultists...

I still remember the days when the cult was convinced that the MCU and Disney were paying off RT critics for positive reviews. Some people are just weird.

Disney has just fallen on hard times. Struggling to grease the wheels.

Batman fanboys sent death threats to anyone who gave TDKR a bad review

Snyder bros are not some special breed

Yeah I remember that...its a friggin movie.

Look my local critic (who was later forced to quit cause he got caught stealing parts of other critics reviews!) reviewed BvS and made it plainly obvious he didn't see it. And when I say obvious, I mean he literally quoted rumors that had been debunked months before as being in the film and why he hated it. My gf, who saw the film and liked it, read the review and made it two or three paragraphs and turned to me and said "he didn't watch the film what is he doing?" that is how bad it was. He trashed the film basically riding the wave that had hit so he could get pimped on RT (I think he was a "Top Critic" at the time) and get all the clicks. It was a total hatchet job and BS...

And even with all that I never thought about emailing him even just to say "I know you made all this up" let alone to threaten him. If you are doing that you need to seek professional help.

The thing about BvS is it made for great SEO. So every publication was trying to write about it because keywords associated with it would get their articles higher search result rankings.

I’ll never agree that Disney paid off critics or that there was an agenda against BvS. There was just a dislike for the movie that then got heavily fanned and overblown by pubs and meme accounts for ad revenue.

It still makes me smile that the first thing my gf said after we left the midnight showing was "what the heck are the reviewers talking about? Did Di$ney pay them off?!?!" She was dead serious and had no clue that there was a conspiracy theory about that. I literally buckled over laughing in the parking lot! If someone rips the movie now she still says it!

I have never believed that myself but we all know that savvy producers do have ways of trying to bribe their way to better reviews. Exclusive interviews, BTS access and other types of glad-handing are as old as the studios! Everyone does it and in the era of clickbait and bloggers basically controlling the narrative (especially with RT) it is as effective as ever outside maybe when there were the Hollywood gossip columnists who were all in the pocket of various studios. I mean we have see plenty of "trusted" nerd press twist themselves into pretzels defending films and shows they would normally pan or get burned in some way and holding a grudge which can paint a negative narrative. (The Batman had that issue until VERY recently) Di$ney is just really good at the shmoozing, and it has been that way since the 1960s. They know how to play the game and play it better than everyone which is a high compliment.

BvS was a perfect storm...and it built over the course of about 2 years. By the time the film was ready to come out the hype on both sides of the argument was so huge it was going to explode one way or another. The film was disliked, which backed up a lot of the rumors and innuendo out there so the negativity exploded. If the film even had MOS reviews it cake walks to ridiculous numbers. There was never going to be a middle ground.
