Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Bahahahhahaha Cats is at 14% on RT.

But they're the Oscar short list nominee for best visual effect. =P

Man I have to watch this thing with my wife who brainwashed child thinking this is great. (I already was like meh with the promos)

Seriously, Hooper should have been stopped long time ago when making musicals. Les Miserables doesn't get the enough hate and ridicule it deserves.

Seriously guys, I’m watching a review of it now and this is one of those rare moments where I wish we all on this forum could meet up in real life and watch a film together because this movie sounds like an absolutely transcendent cinematic experience.

Happy christmas viewing lol

Jumanji has the best family adventure critical score and we don't have an universal vanilla mainstream crowd pleaser this year

I can see your point here which is why I've been very critical of this series because for an event that's supposed to be a Superman event I'm very disappointed that out of 12 issues he was only in 2 1/2 of them.

I think I wanted
a better way for Johns to show how Superman inspired DM. It felt underwhelming to me. In fact, I wasn't really clear on what actually changed DM. Was it that Superman knocked out Pohzar (sp?) to protect DM (even though DM was never really in danger)? Was it that Superman pointed out there is a third option (to which DM needed Superman to tell him that?). It went from DM convinced this was the end (of either him or all things) to him having a change of heart and fixing everything in a matter of what, a page? I wish Johns did more to earn why DM, a guy who is able to see so much, was able to be changed himself so quickly. It felt a little too about-face for me without enough justification. It may not have taken much more, but just something more that felt character-based rather than plot-based (ie, "this is the moment we need to have DM change continuity so we can move on with the story...").

Just watched the first Jumanji the other day (well, the 2017 version anyway). I enjoyed it. It had a bit of an old-fashioned 80's family-action-adventure feel to it.

Wow I didn't know David Ferrier is pretty popular these days with a nice following around the world, he used to do the social/entertainment news for TV3 in NZ, and reports his name is "David Ferrier. 3 NEWS~~!!"

Just read his Cats review and it's brutal lol

Ya I liked it very much, unfortunately wife and kid want to watch that one too, so can't sneak to watch The Rock while they watch Cats. Maybe I'll just watch Frozen 2 when they watch Cats

As a member of the RTSC crowd and one of those sick with the constant and unnecessary hate Snyder gets in this board my reaction to these, especially SW, is...

LOL

Watching others suffer the same pain we went through, and play the cynical role to pile on others with joy?

Sadistic. I like it.

*and that gif, I am not looking forward to paying for this.........

Doesn't make Snyder's work suck any less. :oldrazz:

And all this does is weaken the already pathetic argument that the critics are simply in SW/Disney's pocket.

Oh. That's a perfectly fine opinion for anyone to have. I did have that same opinion too, until I watched in full BvS UC. :cwink: I thought some *ahem* movies from another franchise were overrated or bad at worst but I don't bring them to the discussion unless they are the topic. Be happy to retract my statement if someone can dig into my posts and prove otherwise. :D

Eh. I don't think anybody seriously believes that. Though anyone can make a reasonable argument that Disney films are downgrading the audiences' base level of a good movie.

Ahh....the good old argument - I'm not putting down other franchises, but their fans aren't smart enough to understand this masterpiece.

Random YT recommendation lol. I always knew she was a smokeshow in the 90's, but damn, she's otherworldly here.

Young Diane Lane was all kinds of hnnnngh.

I would still leave everything behind NOW and get in a fist fight with her ex husband thanos.

How did he drop so low after the heights of Argo? You'd think he'd have it in him to rise again with this script at least.

Always felt his Oscar winning Argo script was completely overrated.

You bald bastahs forgot that Terrio had Affleck working with him. Affleck who is a very talented writer in his own right. Won a goddamn oscar for it. He was also 3 for 3 when it came to his own flicks.

Eh, you Supe fans can keep JJ tho!

What do you think of The King's Speech? That movie was very good, AFAIR.

A good performance from a meh movie in general. Better than Fincher's work that year? Hell no.

I will say it again. That moment in Goodfellas when Tommy and Jimmy go to town on Billy Batts. That is how I feel about Hooper and his movies. You can be Ray Liotta in that moment, but you keep him there! I'll be back.

I'd still take Abrams. I could always split the difference and have him on as a producer and he shepherds the project for another director.

Pretty sure everyone thinks some movies from a certain studio are overrated...just like any other studio. Disney ain't special, in that regard. They're just more popular, so to paraphrase one of their well-rated, popular films, their strength invites challenge.

I'll take him, thanks! :D

I wouldn't hate Travis Knight on Supes.

I'm actually watching Bumblebee right now. One of the advantages I think of bringing Abrams aboard as producer is it would open the door for WB to consider second tier directors that they would not to be confident to consider on their own.
