Lounge of Justice - Part 90

I have often thought that WB made a big mistake in dropping Rick Famuyiwa as the director of solo Flash. He's a talented indie director who happened to be black. He cast Kiersey Clemons as Iris West & Billy Crudup as Henry Allen. Ray Fisher's Cyborg was the writer duo Lord & Miller inclusion. IMO, Famuyiwa's Flash would have been better than the other solo DC films, Wonder Woman, Aqauaman and Shazam. WB at that time inluded the likes of Geoff Johns, Kevin Tsujihara et al., with thinking marinated from 1970/80s Superman & fluffy, caddy flosh slops in order to pocket a significant amout of dollars.

Twitter trend about Famuyiwa / Lord & Miller Flash solo project:

Pretty sure Snyder cast Iris West and Henry Allen.

Theaters got hosed on this whole deal.

Why does WB insist on making themselves look like idiots? what kind of amateur hour crap are they trying to fool people with? Good lord, everyone could tell what that frosty the snowman announcement thing was about. They couldn’t have made it any more obvious. Buncha fools.

It's beyond embarrassing. I tried to be as fair as I can and not judge either side too harshly every step of the way, but this is just absurd. What kind of a multi-billion dollar studio that's been making movies literally from the dawn of the industry, has a PR department like this.

So if Gal, Patty, Ben and Zack steps out this week then Johns, Berg, Hamada and the whole scandalous PR department is f***ed?

lol

Pretty much. I'm not that certain about Patty though since she has worked closely with Geoff for a long time and praised him on multiple occasions, and people would naturally question how come she didn't know about any of this. But yes, a whole bunch people would get fired and as BN pointed out, some of them probably are already on the chopping block.

Johns is going no where. They can't afford to lose him on the comics side.

You gotta have a reboot again for Superman or ignore Bendis entire run. That's how bad he messed things up.

At this point, I can probably get used to everyone knowing Superman is Clark. I mean, in the far future, people know they are one and the same, so you figure that had to start at some point. Would it be after he dies? Would it be while he is still active? So I can take it or leave it.

But what I want to see done somehow is Jon being de-aged. That was just ridiculous. What, all for the Legion book? One of the best aspects of the DCU was Clark as a father, young Jon, the relationship between Jon and Damien, Clark and Bruce being superdads, etc. And Bendis changed all of that for a single book? What's worse, I personally haven't read Legion (checked out the first issue), so it makes the change all the worse for me.

And I'm sorry, but little Jon was in some volcano for all those years, being tortured by someone who looks exactly like his father? That's not gonna mess the kid up? We're supposed to pretend that this kid is all right after that?

Well, Bleeding Cool published an article about how DC apparently doesn't want to employ expensive writers anymore. Goes without question that Geoff isn't cheap, so who knows. I watched a Q&A with him recently and when someone asked who did they have to shoot to have him write some Marvel characters he responded "We'll see". So maybe he isn't even exclusive to DC anymore. Besides what more can he do on the comics side anyway. He's written pretty much every DC character there is to write in the past 20 years. DC doesn't need him other than due to the fact that he's a huge name that draws big numbers, but from a creative standpoint I don't see what more he can contribute to DC at this stage of his career.
