Well that is part of the issue with the Trojan War in general though. Take the Gods out of the Iliad and you have uber d-bag Achilles fighting a war that he honestly has no place in against Hector who is fighting to save his kingdom because his brother is a whipped loser who stole the wife of a megalomaniac.

Man the casting of that film was perfect. I mean you have Orlando Bloom as Paris, Diane Kruger as Helen, the aforementioned Pitt and Bana as Achilles and Hector, Sean Bean as Odysseus, Peter O'Toole as Priam and of course:

The cast was great, even if the story wasn't that good.

The movie did Menelaus so dirty...
And presented Paris getting away scott-free with dooming his kingdom, while making it out with Helen to boot.

Which is decidedly not what happened in any account of the Trojan war.

I know the new spidey flick will be fan service galore and most folks will love it. BUT, tis' kinda lame that this spidey doesn't have his own green goblin, doc oc, sandman, shocker etc. Yeah, spare me the whole they'll eventually get there, this way feels cheap to me. Eh.

Superman has been around for over 80 years. Anyone who says they need a 5 movie arc to develop the real Superman should never be allowed near the character.

And I still can't get over how ugly that black suit is. Just awful to look at.

This Spidey does have his own Vulture and Mysterio that previous versions didn’t have. Shocker was in Homecoming, sorta lol. He has a massive rouges gallery and personally I’m all for using characters that haven’t been used before. I don’t need a Joker in every Batman franchise, but don’t think that will ever happen.

Yeah...he is not a great story guy.

If you really want to have some fun watch the Red Letter Media "Half in the Bag" review of Army of the Dead. They are actually being nice to Snyder and still they just can't help but point out how bad he is at writing even a basic zombie script. Plus they kept pointing out how one of the cameras they used was broken cause there is a dead pixel in dozens of scenes and the editor never fixed it.

it look fun and will probably tell a good story, but i don't think holland's spiderman will get his own goblin, doc ock, and such at all...i think this is it. and it does sort of feel cheap.
they're basically just fast-tracking the sinister 6 but in this unorganic manner.
but i suppose the multiverse justifies all!
gotta wait and see how it they pull it off.

on another mcu tangent, i been rewatching shang-chi and i've come to realize that tony leung would've made an awesome ras al ghul.

at times, his mandarin here feels closer to the comic book ras than the nolan movies did.

Agreed. I'm also not a fan of how Snyder portrayed Superman as being a double edge sword for humanity. The fact that Superman's salvation is dependent on Batman saving Lois from being killed by Darkseid is somewhat insulting to the character.

Ghostbusters was a very solid film. Starts a bit slow but the third act is pure awesome!
