One of the greatest creations ever made. Right on top with the wheel and vaccines.
the people who created these and yoga pants are true heroes to humanity!

I never saw the number thing...but Snyder didn't hide the Jesus stuff at all. It has been an on running joke since the film came out. Hell on CBR it was always a fight between the people who believe Superman is Jesus or Moses since the creators were Jewish.
Donner did a much better job...he also had much better writers and he is a much better filmmaker![]()
Even in your descriptions of this version of Superman, you are assigning him character traits, they may not be traits you like but they do constitute a personality. The way I see it he is a character rather than a plot device because he has motivations, internal conflict and agency.
Snyder deliberately uses christian iconography, but I don't think that necessarily means he is uses Superman as a Jesus analogue.
The relationship between Superman and Batman has varied a lot over the decades, sometimes they are very different, sometimes they have basically the same personality. I think there are plenty of different valid interpretations, from TDKR to Superfriends
Having character traits and being a character are 2 different things. When it comes to film or TV, characters and their traits are meant to evolve, signifying the hero's journey that Snyder is so fond of, this is what we call "character development" and superman had nothing of the sort, he was moody and emo when he started in MOS and then in JL: the endless Snyder cut he came back from death, moody as ever, which was signified by that god awful black costume that served no purpose what so ever.
Ultimately Superman died in BvS so another character can have a meaning-full arc and then he came back from the dead in JL so he can basically punch the big baddie, he furthered the plot to be sure, hence me calling him a "plot device" but by the end of Snyder's "epic trilogy" you're left wondering why Superman went through all these trials and tribulations in the first place because, personality wise, he didn't change one lick.
Ask not what the character can do for the movie but ask what the movie can do for the character, especially a character as iconic as Superman.
In contrast to Snyder, Whedon atleast tried to show that it was death that (ironically) gave Superman a new lease on life, as if Clark was telling himself and the audience that him having god like power, a GQ model's good looks, a successful, attractive girlfriend and loving mom means he should stop his moody "woe is me" b***hing and actually start enjoying his position as the world's hero and live up to the symbol that he wears on his chest.
Again if, after watching that less than subtle church scene in MOS, you'd still come out thinking that Snyder isn't half-a** trying to copy Donner's space jesus take on the character then I don't know what to tell ya.
Yes it has varied through the ages but one fact remains: it is the stark contrast between the 2 characters' modus operandi and outlook on life that reminds us (the audience) why those 2 are the be all, end all of all comicbook characters.
Wearing black doesn't negate any of those scenes, it doesn't make him moody.
There isn't always a contrast between Superman and Batman, there are plenty of golden and silver age stories where they have basically the same personality and are simply chums. I've been rewatching the Superfriends cartoon, there's no contrast between them in that. Sometimes they are just two friends who help each other save the day, neither significantly lighter or darker than the other. Maybe you don't care for that, think it's simplistic and reductive, I respect that opinion. But it doesn't render all of those stories invalid.

Leto deserves both an Oscar and a Razzie for this performance, I really do not know how else to explain it

Listen, I appreciate you taking time to read and respond to my post but I am sure that your time is precious (as is mine), hence I will try to save you that precious time and tell you that you and I will never see eye to eye on this topic. You seem to appreciate Snyder's take on Superman, I on the other hand, detest that Hack's vision and execution of Superman's story!
Luckily the majority of critics, fans and most importantly the audience agree with me, hence why the "Snyderverse" has gone nowhere, no matter how much people hash-tag it.
That's your opinion and I respect that but I didn't see it that way and this goes back to what I said above, you and I will not see eye to eye on this. I'll say this though, the fact that Superman is only shown in his traditional red and blue when he's evil speaks volumes about Snyder's distaste for the traditional Superman that we know and love.
I recommend this youtube video:
I fixed Superman's black suit in Zack Snyder's Justice League || NerdSync
This video shows where Snyder's head was at (assuming he has something resembling a thought process, because I honestly doubt it) when he digitally changed Superman's colors.
You seem to have missed my point, when it comes to the 'world's finest', I am well aware that their stories come in all shapes, tones and sizes and when it comes to fictional stories there is no such thing as 'valid' and invalid, if the story appeals to you personally then they it's valid to you and if they don't appeal to me personally then they are invalid, but only to me, not the whole world. Art is subjective and our opinion doesn't represent that of the whole world.
Personally, I'm not fan of the silver age bromance stories (silver age 'world's finest' and superfriends) between Kal and Bruce, I like it when there is a clear contrast, in style and execution, between Superman and Batman WITHOUT them being adversarial (like in DKR), but that's just me.
