Lounge of Justice - Part 90

By Asia are you thinking mostly Japan and Korea (definitely not North) or are you including other nations like India, Turkey, Jordan and GCC?

IIRC she has only been to places like Hong Kong, Thailand, China, Japan...etc. She badly wants to go to Turkey and India amongst other places. Turkey is on my bucket list as well.

Before I hit 50 (currently 41) I would like to get to every continent besides Antarctica. So far I am at 3.

Tbh I have pretty much zero complaints about the characterization of Superman in the CW show. He’s perfect and he completely destroys the argument that Superman fans will never be satisfied. Turns out that Superman Returns and DCEU Superman were just poor representations of the character, and not what most fans wanted to see.

Keep Superman on tv. That is where this boring relic thrives. Let the top dogs handle the important cinematic universe.

Midnight Mass

This was way too preachy for my taste. No pun intended. Still, when the horror elements hit, it bloody hits. Mike Flanagan has been on record talking about wanting to direct a DC flick and them goddamn suits do nothin. Hell, rumor was that they passed on a Clayface flick that he pitched.

Superman is one of the greatest characters, ever. People who find him boring are unfortunate.

I wish you success in your quest.

Wherever you go, make sure no random person bumps into you, I don't know how they do their magic of stealing what's in your pockets.

I'd still like to see Henry get a shot with better material, but I've given up on that prospect.

Oh man they even got Alan Burnett onboard!

So i dont wanna put this in the matrix thread cuz i dont wanna be a buzzkill but....is it just me or is there no hype around this movie? Like, a new MATRIX movie should be a big f***kin deal right? Like an event. And yet I feel like its just kind of there. Maybe its because everyone is so swept up in Spider-man that Matrix is getting swallowed up but I'm not getting a good feeling this movie's gonna do well at all or that people even care. Am I nuts?

It doesn’t look good and I love the three movies and the Enter the Matrix game. The colors are off and it just looks cheap or something idk

I don't think the Matrix should be considered an event. The third movie was not super popular and honestly came out 18 years ago. No one was really asking for it and no one knows what the story will be because well, all the characters are supposed to be dead. It is a weird sort of reboot with very little info out there on how it all works.

That said most people I know who are fans of the series are pumped for it myself included...but more like they were before the first one came out. I know people forget but The Matrix was not super dominant at the box office. It opened at #1 with $27 million ($31 if you do the 5 day for Easter) and then fell to #2 in week 2. After a month it was out of the Top 10. It did $171 million domestic which at the time was awesome but nothing Earth shattering. That is kind of where people are at with this one too.

If the movie is halfway decent it will do fine. Since it is on HBO Max along with theaters WB will have different expectations for it anyways but I always figured if this did "well" at the BO if it would be because of word of mouth.

I wouldnt say there is no hype, i think many are just not sure what to expect.
I can only speak for myself, but i never expected a new Matrix movie ever.
And seeing the trailers etc i just dont know what to expect from this.

So im hyped for sure, but not like "HELLL YEAH, NEW MATRIX....LETS...FKN GOOOOOO".
Im more someone who doesnt go into this movie expecting anything groundbreaking as Matrix 1 was.

I think its just way too long ago and matrix 2 and 3 werent that banger movies...so maybe thats why people arent over the top excited.

I'm definitely interested, but I think a lot of people were burned badly enough by the sequels that more Matrix doesn't have the hype it might have once garnered.

I think almost everyone is a little burned out by so many great franchises being run into the ground and Matrix just feels like the next in line.

The trailer looked decent enough but I think its safe to say nothing in this new film will top the original. The best we can hope for is that it ends up being better than the sequels.

And lets be fair...you are comparing it to massive franchise films that are currently active. (not 2 decades old) Plus Spidey with its "hey look we have all the Spideys in this film...AND DOCTOR STRANGE!! AND DOC OCK!! AND EVERY OTHER CHARACTER EVER BECAUSE WE DONT LIKE TOM HOLLAND!!!" is sucking the air out of the room. ;)

There's a whole generation of adults that weren't alive to see any of the Matrix films in theaters. Of course there's gonna be less hype than Spidey.
Exactly. A few of my co-workers are a decade younger than me, and their attitude toward this movie is mostly mild intrigue at best, as they fully admit they were too young for the Matrix hype train the first go-round.

I just watched Trailer 2...I am super hyped now! I mean they revealed a lot but still confused to the bejesus!

Reading an old Batman/Superman scrapped flick. I think this one was suppose to star Colin Farrell as Bats and Jude Law as Supes. Early 00s. Directed by Wolfgang Petersen.

Breh, I got to the part where Joker uses a robotic bee to kill Bruce's fiancee the day of their wedding. Lawd.

Damn.

Even back then, bald man can't win. They have him in the process of getting divorced from Lois.
