Superman fans after the Wonder Woman game announcement:

literally the first thing I thought of. Not being excited or interested in a game they just announced, but disappointed that superman once again gets the shaft.

I'm kinda over the idea of wanting a Superman game, when comic writers are having trouble sticking with a most consistent version of the character powers and weaknesses It'll be very hard to expect him as the star of a great game with a solid vision of what his powers should be like.

Flash and -maybe to a lesser extent- Green Lantern don't lend themselves well to games either.

Anyone else have trouble not drinking soda? I've recently moved onto Zevia. I went with their 'coke cola' equivalent, and tis basically an acquire taste, but once you get use to it, your taste buds will tell ya its almost the same.

I quit pop a decade+ ago. At first it sucks but I stopped wanting it after a couple months and then never looked back.

Good luck buddy!

I really feel bad for Superman fans, outside of the Superman & Lois show...they get very little entertaining stuff with him in recent times...even the comics put him on the backburner quite a bit.

Must be tough seeing how little Faith DC/WB has in the character, in a time where we could really need some of that Hope and brightness the character stands for.

But im super happy Diana gets her first solo game...and from developers that i do trust to do good.

Cowboy Bebop (Live-Action)

I'm only 7 episodes in, but I think I've wrapped my head around why it doesn't totally work for me. They took a more serialized approach than the anime, which meant they had to spend more time fleshing out the narrative. In doing that, they took some of the more interesting episodes from the anime and dumbed them down to service the main characters. The "Binary Two-Step" episode is a great example of this in how it reimagines Dr. Londes in a much more easily digestible way to place more focus on Spike's psyche.

It's a choice that I can respect, but I feel ultimately bit them in the ass in the end. Because they've sacrificed the sorta tragic simplicity that made the anime work so well. The characters have gotten bigger, but they feel more generic. And the world they inhabit feels smaller because of it.

Anyway, I still got a few episodes left so we'll see if my final thoughts change by the end. I do think it's a shame the show didn't get a season 2. Feels like it could've hit its stride with all of the backstory outta the way.

i think you're really on the mark about this.
the adaption is flawed, but it was still a fun time for me.
i appreciated the main lead's performances and the passion / ambition that was put into the show.

i'm a really huge fan of the anime, so this worked as a nice little elseworlds companion piece to it.
so i'm bummed about it not getting a season 2.

john cho can't catch a break when he's a lead of a show. :wall:

Hopefully One Piece turns out better since that's an actually serialized property.

An open world WW game sounds like a hnnngh dream. Worthy of getting a PS5 for.

Also, @Da-Scribe n @chintai80

I'm also disappointed we won't get a season 2 of Cowboy Bebop. The way it ended I felt like they could've found their way in season 2 with the origin/intro out the way. That redhead has beautiful ''eyes'', and Daniella Pineda feels like the type who would be down to make out in a dirty bathroom, mean this in the best possible way. I don't know how else to describe her vibe, but I dig it.

i liked that lesbian scene pineda had with the mechanic in the control room. all dirty and greasy.

i like lesbians.

back when i was a single young man, i made out with one of my lesbian friends.

but alas, nature always wins out, and she hooked up with the womens.

i sometimes still message her to chat, and we pretend it never happened. :oldrazz:
cest la vie!

Shang-Chi

Finally gave it a viewing.

This takes some of the marvel cliches and makes them a bit better. Most of the humor here didn't bother me except for a few moments. Tis' almost comical at this point how often that moment of seriousness-explaining the origin/background scenes, wait for it, here comes a character interrupting with a lame joke. This has the best action scenes from any marvel flick so far for me tho, which is huge plus. I mean, they take 'Neverending Story' to a whole new level. This was pretty enjoyable for the most part. I dug it. I think it make a good double feature with Aquaman.

Superman is the best its been in a long while imo. Good direction for Clakr and his son in comics.Good super girl comic. Supergirl show done but movie version incoming.

Finally another animated version. Tyler's cw show has been very well received by fans(imo the best superman adaptation ever). Kon-el/Connor Kent in Titans show. Tae nehishi Coates writing a superman movie(dont have full faith in him but could be interesting). Michael b Jordan producing a Val zoo hbo max show...
Lots of stuff being done... Also pretty sure they are gonna announce a superman game sometimes the near future tbh.

Just watched The Exorcist 3.

Quite good movie, tremendous actors. Brad Douriff at his Brad Douriffiest.

Just finished rewatching The Matrix trilogy. I have never been a fan of the sequels…until this week.

These flicks work better in today’s world than they do in the early 2000s. Damn near every major heroic character is a woman or BIPOC, which fits the narrative so well. Because of course these people would largely be the ones to reject The Matrix. But this was not a conversation folks were ready to have in their blockbusters.

And man, I love how the Wachowskis just completely pull the rug out from under you in Reloaded with the reveal that The One is just a system of control. I was too young to really get that twist when I first heard it. I was also deeply religious at the time. As an adult who walked away from faith, that scene hits so much harder.

Really pumped for Resurrections now and my hype was already at an all time high.

Yeah I think that's a big part of why Reloaded has aged better for me. As an adult, that reveal feels like a much bigger gut punch than it was for me when it came out.

The Last Duel

Quick review/thoughts watched a few days ago.

When old man Ridley hits on all cylinders, he hits. One of them flicks that just isn't made any more and after the box office receipts, it will be far more difficult to see more like it going forward. Jodie Comer is mvp for me here, but all of em brought it. This is worth for blonde Affleck hamming it up alone and Damon's mullet style haircut.

One of the years best flicks.

Cant say i agree.
Have dropped most Superman comics and those i read have Jon in the focus while Clark is away.
The animated show so far doesnt look too interesting to me, the Period piece worries me greatly, Val Zod isnt Clark Kent.

Sure in the Superman universe theres a lot interesting stuff going on no doubt, but for clark kent itself...i dont think the character has been dealt the best cards in recent times.

Nah....Clark is out there battling on war world with one of the best takes on mogul. He has his own wildstorm inspired team- bit unusual yes but fresh.Hes more proactive. The war World arc is epic in scope. Tyler is the best(imo) adaptation of clark ever. Hes been well received and has good material.

Val god isn't clark is but its still superman. Just like the batfam are still batman affiliated. Just like miles is Spiderman. Sure I I prefer Peter , Clark and Bruce over those. But val god has a lot o potential. Will it meet it? possibly not but is it interesting? yes.

Clarks doing just fine. better than new 52(barring Morrison). Better than zack snyder, goyer and terrio era.

New York Ninja

10 minutes in. My sweetlord! This is beautiful 80s garbage.

oh man, i really want to watch this. someone posted the trailer for this a few months ago.
i wonder if the main actor/ director john liu was contacted about being interviewed for this?
curious on what his thoughts are about this revival of his film.
seemed like he sort of went off the grid though.

Breh, this is a MUST watch. RLM review of it as a follow up viewing is also a must. It makes it all much better. I bought the bluray.

Because @Predator jp hates Spider-Man, I present to him this picture

I think that movie would make some good video game material as much as it should be a fun movie.

arcade ninja gaiden use to frustrate me so much.
such difficult controls to pull off moves and getting ur ass beat non-stop by hockey-mask thugs.
but u get to be a ninja and do ninja moves so i kept pumpin in quarters!

I know tis probably old school sexist and totally outdated at this point, but watching the miss universe thing right now. Miss India just 'meow' like a cat as one of her talents. Not to mention the judges are mixed with bloody nobodies. TIs a beautiful mess, literally.

Miss France and Miss Costa Rica is all kinds of hnnngh tho!
