I think if they made it super self aware and had him acknowledge the fact that he's super unknown in the superhero world it could work really well. Have him fight leap frog or something, who is also struggling with is obscurity :hehe:

And they've ran off the perfect director to give it that tone. Wright had more chance than any I think to to make this movie a success. I just dont know what the hell they were thinking getting cold feet this late in the game. After comicon and the reveal they should have remained committed to Wright's vision. Firing a great director a year before release on an extemely niche property like ant-man is beyond dumb.

This is a property that every director would want to build from the ground up. Not come in this close to the deadline and try to use some other director's scraps. Ratner might would take it. He will work for a paycheck.

Wright and Cornish were the only reason anyone was excited about Ant-Man anyhow.

Yep. And Marvel really should have realized this, but arrogance at the success of their brand name makes them think that they can pump out whatever and make bank. Who knows maybe they can. Im sure they can at least break even and write it off. They are successful enough and Avengers Box office will likely cover any losses from Ant-Man so thats likely thwir plan at this point.

After seeing some of Wright's movies, the only reason I was still interested in it was because its Marvel. And I can't be alone so that's some ********, LV

ONe of my facebook friends just posted a generic status about people being two faced. So tempted to comment with a picture of Two Face...

No its really not. More often than not Ive encountered Wright being the only reason people are interested. He has a large fanbase. A much larger fanbase than ant-man id be willing to bet. The movie is going to lose most of Wright's fanbase, because a large portion just dont give two ****s about Ant-Man, marvel or not. Their only interest was Wright.

Nope, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim was all kinds of stupid, imo (doesnt help the movie stars the one actor I HATE, Michael Cera.) If it wasn't a Marvel movie Wright's involveent would have turned me off.

I struggle to imagine not liking Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End.

"Was it murrrderrr?" "Yarp." :hehe:

They are the best self aware deconstruction of genres in cinema imo.
