OYE!

EL MOFACKIN' MAYIMBE AQUI!

After much speculation on the web, I got some news concerning casting on THE DARK KNIGHT, the sequel to BATMAN BEGINS!

We gave the world the first look at the script review for BATMAN BEGINS 3 years ago so it goes without saying that my information is solid concerning this project. I don't get my information from any publicists, like other people do, those folks get spoon fed and believe me you expect other sites to start calling their peeps at WB to find out if this is true….Like they will ever tell you the truth.

So that being said...

It's official (no surprise), HARVEY DENT is in THE DARK KNIGHT. Matt Damon passed on the role. The filmmakers met Josh Lucas and there is an interest in Jamie Foxx and Ed Norton. I'm pretty sure there are other actors that I'm not aware of up for the Harvey Dent role.

Now the big news is that the character of RACHEL DAWES is back in THE DARK KNIGHT but Katie Holmes won't be playing her!

No surprise there.

She is being replaced and the filmmakers are looking for that actress now. Let the speculation begin...

Some other minor roles...

Eastern European Heavy - tough bad guy mobster, 40s-50s
Female Cop - Latin, 30s. Elizabeth Pena type.
Asian Accountant - male, 40s
Sounds like a lot of diversity in the sequel!

Also according to Production Weekly, the film has been in pre-production as of January 11th.

Lastly there is no Oswald Cobblepot AKA The Penguin in THE DARK KNIGHT.

That is all I have for now so stick with the hardest working Beaners in showbiz here at Latinoreview as further information develops on THE DARK KNIGHT! In the meantime, I have to change back into my housekeeping clothes and sneak onto the Warner lot here in Burbank. Wow, Alan Horn has quite a nice office!

HASTA EL PROXIMO CAPITULO...

...YO SOY EL MAYIMBE!

Goddamn, Damon woud've been awesome.

:down to a recast.

WHAT?!?! Replacing Katie? Now she isn't exactly a tour-de-force when it comes to acting, but there is nothing MORE annoying than switching actor's for a character. I hope this is fake, either get Katie back or dont bring the character back!! Recasting is my Number 1 pet peeve in moviedom.

Matt Damon?!? Shoot me!!!

Ed Norton. PERFECT!!

I hope either Norton or Foxx gets the role--either one would make a good Dent, I think. :)

Also, the female cop's obviously Renne Montoya.

god dammit . . . recasting is wicki-wicki-WHACK! but at least it's not Batman this time *shrugs*

Im glad to see the back of Katie Holmes. What a waste of time she turned out to be, mind you with family commitments now she's got priorities. The latino female cop Det. Montoya? my shout Roselyn Sanchez.

I'm usually against recasting, but in this case it's a smart thing to do. Of course, it would be better if they just got rid of the character altogether, but oh well....

I hope Bullock is in the movie. And too bad about Holmes not returning. So much not replacing actors in this trilogy.

Agreed on both counts.
The Dawes character could easily be written out and a new one in if they just wanted a love interest, she wrapped her arc up in BB,to recast is dumb and there's no reason why either

Asian accountant?
Daniel Dae Kim... man he is so cliche for the Asian male hahaha.
He was a scientist in spiderman 2 right?
One more superhero film won't hurt.
He's my choice for that small role though

I have a feeling that if she does get recast, the role will be really short and possibly killed off.

Man I hope they don't recast Rachel. I HATE when they do that. Her purpose was served in BB, they should just write her out.

I don't really mind any of the point LR has just brought up, but I don't like the recasting thingy either.....

Oh and Matt Damon would have been F'N AWESOME as Dent!

Wow!! She a stunner! Roselyn Sanchez would get my vote.

Recast Dawes? I'll hold off judgement, but on paper it's a dumb idea. Though, she'll probably just get killed in the first half hour anyway.

And Damon might've been a good Dent, Norton would be great though.

I was thinking maybe this means that Rachel is in TDK "In Name Only", not actually on screen. LR may have worded it like this just to get people talking.

That's possible. Very possible. I remember someone saying Rachel was basically cameo in this (might have been Clint from Moviehole.)

I hate recasting. :cmad: This is very disappointing if true. I would have liked Katie Holmes to return at least for the sake of consistency, otherwise just write her off. And Matt Damon would have been an awesome Dent/Two-Face. This sucks. :csad:
