Horror M. Night Shyamalan’s “Trap”

oh and I have to say Night's daughter did a good job as Lady Raven considering she is not an actor but a real singer she did great job

I wasn't really put off by the plot contrivance. Honestly I loved the film and I think it sort of put itself in a unrealistic world so it didn't bother me so much

You bet! Her talent took me quite by surprise. I had no idea she was that good. :)

If you went into this one expecting anything other than a Shyamalan film, you'll walk away complaining about things like logic, which is valid, but it is a Shyamalan film. I had a great time with it.

LOL, I guess that is a way to look at his movies. Just don’t expect it to make sense and you’re good.

Well not all stories are meant to be taken literally.

It’s frustrating though how it doesn’t make any sense once they leave the arena. The first half was pretty great, and to echo, yes Josh Harnett was great the role. So was the actor who played his daughter.

But I’m sorry Lady Raven (M Night’s daughter) is a very poor actress - not completely her fault since she’s a singer and apparently M Night wrote this so he could showcase her. But she also doesn’t sell ANY of the last half of this movie which is a problem when she becomes the main hero of the movie.

I think M Night had trouble figuring if this would be a thriller or a comedy as by the end it falls into farce.

This is a bad movie. No amount of "go with it" reasoning can allow me to overlook the stupidity of every character but Josh Hartnett in this. I love when a character is presented as brilliant and capable and shines when cornered in a similar, but hostile environment. This movie was turned on easy mode.

Nah. Saleka Shyamalan is also fine in it. I will not be elaborating.

I didn’t think she was bad but it annoyed me how Hartnett’s character just abandons all logic once he hatches his scheme to use her to escape. I don’t know, I think he would have had a better shot at sweet talking the cops than revealing himself to be a serial killer to Lady Raven and then just letting her go after she got him out of the building.
