I was wondering that myself. What is the point of having reformed villians become heroes if it is negated almost immediately? Do I think the other books will acknowledge this change either, or will we still see group shots of Armadillo with the Rangers for the next few months? Marvel's made blunders throughout CW and I don't expect them to change.
Granted, overall I don't mind it. There are very few decent villians anymore and the more you make heroes, the more you have to force writers to overuse the A-List baddies or attempt to make their own, who ALWAYS suck. Seriously, name me one "good" villian created within the last 5 years. One. And if they died at the end of their debut arc, they don't count, because that's happened way too often.
I got VILLIANS UNITED so it's only fair I pick this up. So we have MODOK, Armadillo, Nightshade, Spot, Chameloan, Mentallo, Living Laser, Puma, and Rocket Racer. It is about time someone tried to rip off the OCEAN'S 11/12 franchise and this looks like fun. I wonder if having some "sometimes heroes" like Puma & Rocket Racer (and technically 'dillo I guess) may muck things for the team in the end? Of course, Puma's been a merc before, so being "hired" for a gig won't seem new to him.
Hopefully, the Spot might be used in some serious manner to amp him up. He's got a power that could be dangerous, he just usually looks and acts like a ****** with it.
