Um...a prequel would only work if done EXTREMELY right. The whole purpose of Mad Max is about surviving in the aftermath of a nuclear war. So, a prequel would take place before the world falls apart.

Unless, you were referring to a prequel to Road Warrior. That could work, I guess. A story that takes place between Mad Max and Road Warrior OR between Road Warrior and Thunderdome.

I think the best idea was that one that floated around about Heath playing his son and Max dies in it. Max wasn't "mad" until the middle of the first one, a prequel would be, what? Him joining the police force?

I say get Mel to at least have a small part in it.

Why not just make a prequel and Mel Gibson could play the bad guy. If Stallone can play Rocky and Rambo at around 60. Mel could definatley play a very disruntled portly bad guy who cuts peoples heads off when they call him fat.

I can't see why Max can't be old. Steven Seagal has been playing the same ol' ex-CIA agent for the last 15 years and he's older than Mel.
