WTF is up with this show? I've read reviewers rave about this show for years and I finally gave it a shot. Well, it is terrible. I'm only 6 episodes in but it couldn't be more boring. Don Draper is extremely boring and only the most most boring people in the world could find him entertaining. The work atmosphere (advertising) is EXTREMELY boring. Only a bunch of advertising nerds could like this show. Nothing ever happens. Who wants to watch someone elses boring office life? My guess is that people who like this show daydream for the days when men could do whatever they wanted to women and when doing nothing was good enough to succeed. I guess it was old people on tv I saw gush over this show so I shouldn't be surprised. For people who follow this show, does Don Draper develope a personality, or does something a tiny bit interesting happen?

Are you watching from the first season on or just the current season?

First season. Maybe I shouldn't have listened to all the reviews and awards. I expected an amazing show, but it's just a bunch of advertising dorks who have terribly boring lives. it seems like I would have to be from the 60s to find their personalities entertaining. If this is what the 60s were like, thank god I missed them.

You need to give it more episodes honestly. Don't expect it to cater to the ADD crowd who need exposition in every scene, or need something visually interesting happening every second. If you're a fan of dramas and indie dramas, it should be right up your alley.

This may be the OP's problem.

Nope. It doesn't have to be visually stimulating, it just has to be stimulating in any form. Like I said, maybe I expected too much. Your interest in a show is based on how interesting you find the characters' lives. I guess in this show the characters' lives are just extremely boring. No worries. Live and learn. I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same as I do.

I've only seen a few episodes, about to start it again since it's now on Netflix instant.
BUT, the only response this thread deserves is Soapy's.

Seriously, it's one thing for Mad Men not to interest you. It could be the characters, the actors, maybe even the story. Not your cup of tea, fine.

But worst show ever? Really? REALLY?

Especially when the worst show ever is Lost. :o

Coming from you, Majik, that only solidifies its greatness. :P

haha, nice picture pwn3r. Like, I said, I think my disappointment is from hearing all the great reviews. Obviously it is probably not the worst show ever. But I thought more people would feel the same way as I. I guess marketing is just not for me.

I'm an advertising major, haha. But still, I haven't seen the show enough to form an opinion.

Says the guy who himself says hasn't seen enough of this show. :o
Once again, your logic is fascinating. How does not watching Mad Men make LOST the worst show?

Hahahahaahaha. Mad Men is an amazing show. And you give only two options. Bad or Worst? Seriously?

When I first started the show after the first three episodes I got so bored, and I stop watching it. Then I give it another shot, and by the end of the season I loved it. And then the second and third season were so much better.

This show isn't for everyone. If you like action shows (and I'm sure you do) then this is not for you.

OP: Most condescending or most condescending ever?

Different strokes for different folks, no need to state idiotic things like 'only advertising nerds would like this show', not only uncalled for but also makes you seem very ignorant, which I hope isn't true.

The thing with Mad Men is it doesnt start kicking into gear until season 3. I too was extremely bored of it at first but i forced myself to keep watching because of all the rave reviews and it got much much better. I'm still not in love with the show like a lot of people are but I'm much more interested in it than when i was when i started watching it.

I will say that compared to other seasons, season 1 is probably the most boring. Just hang in there. Things definitely get more interesting in season 2. I felt the same way with Mad Men and Breaking Bad, but now I LOVE both shows.

I coulndt even get through the first episode. And THIS is the show that ****ed The Walking Dead over? No no no, I'm not mad... -_-

I watched a bit of the first season and a bit of the second and found it all terribly dull and lifeless.

The Walking Dead is okay but it got boring towards the end of the season. It moved along at a snail pace.

I guess that Weiner idiot will get the money that was going towards Breaking Bad when that ends

That's what that Sutter guy claims but I think he's talking out of his ass

I would not be surprised when AMC negotiated with Weiner they mentioned that Breaking Bad was ending & that when it ends Mad Men can get that extra cash. As a way to keep Mad Men on the show

I never cared to get into Mad Men so I can't say if it is good or not. What I do know is that this show ruined other shows so I will do my part and continue to not care about it.
