Snopes showing their bias:

If they were that biased, would they have shot holes in the meme?

Look, either way you slice it, she has ZERO education experience. Why should someone like that be Secretary of Education? Let's stick with that question for now. Your reply?

She has absolutely "0" education experience, this is nothing more than a rich woman, who feels like she has known best what should happen in education, yet has never been in the classroom herself. It is a disgusting example of "pay for play" and as an educator I am extremely offended by this choice.

My hope is that this does, in fact, lead to the dismantling of the Department of Education.

I myself, am not a proponent of "Common Core" curriculum, HOWEVER, I do understand as an educator what they are trying to do, it is simply the fact that they don't seem to understand how to implement it. As usual, the Federal Government wants to simply thrust their power into the classroom without having any clue of how to do it. "Common Core" would be fine to implement beginning at the Kindergarten level, and moving up from there......NOT throwing it into the mix at all grade levels, after other types of curriculum have been implemented. FOR EXAMPLE, "Common Core" math curriculum DOES TEACH analytical skills needed, BUT it is very hard for 5th through 12th graders to learn after having learned the basics under a different type of curriculum, it is not fair to them or the teachers in the classroom. Of course, people who made these decisions are not educators, therefore they have no clue how to implement this curriculum.

I am just amazed at how ignorant this woman is in the area of education, and she would be chosen over a Michelle Rhee....mind you, I am not necessarily a big fan of hers either....but I am all for throwing out teacher tenure. When a teacher of 5 years who has gone to multiple annual training sessions throughout the school year, and in the summer...who has scores to prove improvement in their classrooms is let go instead of a teacher who has been teaching for 15 years, has not gone to any training other than what the school district provides (which are usually poor to mediocre) and scores are pitiful at best....BUT because she has 10 years more experience she is kept. It has, and still does, feed mediocrity in the public school system. I am also all for vouchers, I think that the best way to improve public schools is to have them compete with other types of education. Michelle Rhee is a doer, and she does sometimes plows through things that need to be done, but sometimes that is what is needed.

Well, that's what you get for donating to Trump.

I will restate that the Devos's influence on MI's education system has not been positive.

Debunking a meme and then going along with those assertions without evidence is shooting holes?

As I said, I have no idea who the hell this lady is...let alone her background. That Snopes article is my background and even that is biased to the reader. Is she qualified? Probably not. I didn't even think Obama was qualified.

Also, our education system is messed up. I don't see that changing.

I say #Chaseter/DJ2020 we will campaign on the fact that we are uniquely unqualified and also not big fans of each other so we will then argue about most things and then come to a compromise in the best interest of the nation.

The question was why should someone who has zero education experience be Secretary of Education. Try again, please. And this time, don't dodge by deferring to Obama.

I'll even quote it again for you.

Go ahead, defend Trump's choice. We'll wait.

In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally

You are a horrible bag of ******* garbage.

I answered your question. What are you waiting for...a Snopes article?

This lady looks to not be qualified. Obama wasn't qualified. I didn't think Obama should have been President. A + B = C. She probably shouldn't be Sec Ed. But, I really don't know who she is and if you want to back up your case, don't post overly biased blog posts. Obama ran around with Bill Ayers. Want to make Snopes logic leaps if this is fair game? Obama is a 1970's terrorist!!!!

Facts equal bias now. Like "politicized science". What BS. This is the world we live in now.

You are a horrible bag of ******* garbage.

It was researched extensively and found that in 1 billion votes cast, only 31 actual cases of fraud were found. This shows just how reckless Trump is. He is actually suggesting that there were over 1 million cases of fraud in this one election and that, somehow, the people committing it, didn't win. The problem is people will actually believe him!!! He has constantly lied about countless things on Twitter with nothing to back up his claims and people eat it up like a $5 buffet!

The thing is you can tell being one of the few presidents who didn't win the popular vote really bothers him.

No, you didn't. Try again.

Why should she be Secretary of Education with zero education experience?

I think America could survive President Trump, but we cannot survive a post-fact world. I really do think the democratization of facts is beginning of the end for human civilization.

To be clear, there have been Secretaries of Education in the past that have had no background in the field of Education, and that has shown itself to be very unproductive in making any kind of strong educational reform.

So, if anything, we will simply have more of the same. My problem comes with the very fact that 1. she has no educational background whatsoever, and 2. she has given millions to the Republican party, and Trump's campaign.

Why not bring in Michelle Rhee who actually agrees quite a bit with Trump and DeVos? It is very obvious, he doesn't care about her qualifications he cares about the fact that DeVos is a big time donor. Plain and simple, I don't need Snopes or a meme to figure that out.

Honestly, it isn't her lack of education experience, though I imagine that is a factor in her horrible beliefs. That is what puts her in "Legion of Doom" territory. Her and her family have been pushing charter schools and vouchers in MI pretty hard for a decade and a half.

And of course, let's not forget that this reeks of him rewarding donors.

Hmmmmm.... 2 + million he is talking about, considering he stated that he would have won by millions except for the fraud. Which would mean he would have to be able to prove at least 2 + million cases of fraud.

I don't necessarily like her particular outlook on school choice, but I don't necessarily see a problem with reform that allows public education funds to follow students to the schools or services that best fit their needs—whether that’s to a public school, private school, charter school, home school or any other learning environment parents choose for their kids.

In my opinion, public schools will begin to use the money they have much more efficiently and effectively, rather than how they are today and that is paying millions for "the next new thing" rather than giving new reforms a chance to work, and not spending money on particular vendors but spending the time and effort to find vendors that give the same quality at a cheaper rate.

There is nothing wrong with competition in education.

Also, it will force districts to get rid of mediocre teachers and open spaces for innovative and passionate educators. Tenure is a big part of that problem, unions are another major part of the problem.

I think it is time for a major shake up in the field of education. Unfortunately Trump's pick is, as you say, simply a pay off for donations....it has absolutely nothing to do with wanting to truly bring in educational reform.

But hey, if she wants to throw out "No Child Left Behind"? More power to her..... :)

And given that the independent research only found 31 in over 1 billion, that's quite an uphill battle.

Trump has just helped those calling for recounts with that tweet... if even the President Elect is saying that there's been massive voter fraud then the people pushing for Recounts have a better footing for their case.

I can see him suspending the results of the next election if he loses. That's how dictators operate.

he is pathological delusional loser. white people (the folks that voted him in), this is your president.

Same old Lex, nothing surprises me at this point.

Could that tweet be Bannon's influence showing itself? Sounds like something from one of his "news" articles.
