The awkward thing is also that no left news is mentioning McMahon yet which flies in the face of the data. For those who know the economy and business, if people hold false beliefs and act upon them in the face of McMahon acting against them what are the kinds of repercussions we are looking at? Would this create a neutral effect or further cripple the economy? Similarly to how the housing boom created the prior recession (not exact, but still falsehoods at play economically).

Well, I imagine that McMahon's hostility to small business would be seen in the context of the WWE's gobbling up of regional wrestling organizations. But, that is really just a part of normal business operations. Every business aims to grow market share, and that means taking away business from other companies. As a result, some will inevitably be put out of business. Some will shrink to the point (or your business will grow to the point) where you can buy up smaller businesses. In fact, the only way to not hurt other small businesses is to never go into business in the first place. So, I don't think McMahon would be seen by small business owners as an enemy. In fact, that someone who actually worked in the business world in management will be in charge as opposed to a lawyer, someone who just works in think-tank or academia, or a government bureaucrat would make me feel better, if I were a small business owner.

I suppose it's possible, but I don't see how reducing and relaxing regulations can do anything other than be a positive for the economy. And, I say this as someone who has worked his entire career in the health care industry and sees first hand the impact of regulations and regulatory compliance on business operations.

Regulations are there for a reason. 9 times out of 10 when regulations get "relaxed" we get things like Flint, MI and other BS because what's good for business is for them to be able to cut corners and screw over poor people.

Wall Street regulations were relaxed when Reagan was president and it allowed white collar crime to flourish. It was a bad time. Bush relaxed them as well. The only people who benefited were the wealthy (and the president who held shares in various companies).

Trump asks vaccine skeptic Robert Kennedy Jr. to lead commission on ‘vaccine safety’

Donald Trump asked a proponent of a widely discredited theory that vaccines cause autism to chair a new commission on vaccine safety and scientific integrity.

The stunning move contradicts established science, medicine and the government’s position on the issue. It comes after Trump — who has long been critical of vaccines — met at Trump Tower with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has spearheaded efforts to roll back child vaccination laws.

Every time I think it can't get more awful. This line of thinking kills children.

Sessions just said the U.S. government can hold American citizens indefinitely without trial or charge, similar to Japanese internment. :wow:

While it is true that Korematsu (the case in which the Supreme Court ruled internment was Constitutional) is still "good law," that is only because the Supreme Court has not had a similar case through which to overturn it. I cannot think of a single credible legal scholar who would think Korematsu is good law. Instead, it is viewed in the light of Dred Scott and Muller v. Oregon. I am absolutely appalled to hear the future Attorney General attempt to defend it.

I am sick of these people's ostentatious displays of their ostensible super patriotism while they piss all over American tenets.

More like Dredd Scott in his case. Orwell predicted it all.

Those who seem to care the most about the "symbols" of this country seem to have the least understanding of the principles in which those symbols are supposed to embody.

Sure I'll piss all over your individual rights and try to restrict the freedoms granted to you in the Constitution, but god forbid you don't stand up for our anthem.

In the last thread you guys were talking about Trump mocking the disabled reporter. I'll agree that he makes a similar geture when mocking anyone he thinks is stupid. Why a grown man thinks that's acceptable is beyond me. However, look at the video, then the disabled reporter. Trump bends his wrist EXACTLY like the disabled reporter's wrist is bent. Usually Trump just shakes like an idiot waving his hands around. He obviously put in a personal gesture to the reporter during his Trump shuffle.

J.K. Rowling burned Trump

So what we're essentially seeing continuing is him appointing denier of said departments, to head those departments. We are in for a helluva good time these next 4 years :funny:

You put it better than I have over that incident.

Personally I could have lived with the excuse Trump was just doing something he always does but where I think he failed was not apologizing that he is sorry if people misunderstood what he did he didn't mean to be interpreted that way. Instead he just doubled down and was being an arse.

Report: Russia Has Trump Golden Showers Blackmail

http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2017/01/10/buzzfeed-trump-caught-in-perverted-sex.html

Russian intelligence officers planned to blackmail Donald Trump with knowledge of his alleged "perverted sexual acts," a new report obtained by Buzzfeed alleges. The unverified report by a person claiming to be a former British intelligence official alleges that Russian officials intended to blackmail Trump with evidence of him allegedly hiring multiple sex workers to perform "golden showers" in front of him. The hotel where the acts allegedly occurred were said to be under Russian surveillance.

So Trump is basically Goldfinger...

The report supposedly has a few inaccuracies which will set the Cult of Trump off as being proof of it being 'Fake News'

Kinda sure it is fake, until reported by an official source I'm viewing shower gate as being the same as pizza gate. It sounds too James Bondy to me... Might be true, but waiting for an official source. It would explain why he's orange though.

Don't pin objections to this solely on Trump's cult. My undergraduate degree is in journalism and I find Buzzfeed's decision to publish the memos to be somewhere between grossly irresponsible and deplorable, from a journalistic perspective.

First, it's worth noting that there are pretty big indescrepancies in these memos. Plus the memos have been circulating among the press and even law enforcement and Congress for months. No one has been able to verify them. The only source is a "undisclosed British intelligence official."

It is beyond sloppy journalism for Buzzfeed to publish this without being able to verify it or corroborate it (and again, everyone from the New York Times to the FBI TO JOHN MCCAIN has been attempting to verify this report for months to no avail). It is essentially saying "we can't speak to the accuracy but we will let America decide." In fact, Buzzfeed News's editorial board basically says that in the article that publishes the memo. This is not journalism. This is worse than fake news. This is tabloid writing.

It probably is fake... but the fact that people aren't sure that a report about Trump organising something like this is not completely unbelievable is a glowing neon sign to how bad Trump is IMHO
