freakin awesome OInc!

Thank you sirs.
thanks!

yeah, I was in luck, this old shirt's 5% spandex, it's streches perfect

that's nice, don't you know rorschach only half steals and eats Heinz brand baked beans?!
haha... just yanking your chain, great job, looks spot on GN

how's visibility?

lol, Rorschach takes what he can get!:cwink:

Thank you, I was goin' for the GN interpretation.
But to answer your question, the visibility is decent. I cut 2 tiny tiny holes where my eyes are and sewed 2 ultra thin layers of black pantyhose under the mask to maintain the illusion. You barely see the holes, but the visibility could be a lot better....but also A LOT worse.

Hey guys. Just want to say all your costumes are looking amazing. I finished my Rorschach costume for good last week. Here's some pics:

The blood stain on the jacket aren't all that noticable so I might pump that up a bit as well as the overall "dirtiness" of his coat. Whatcha think?

LOL Epic win!!!!!!! Gotta love the beans; best shot of the hole lot. Great job buddy. :woot:

i ironed (this

)
on the shirt upside down...cut a foot off pantyhose and then cut a hole in that and put it around the top and around the neck to tighten the shirt to give it the rugged look and make it more like a mask(all the extra shirt that is behind your head and neck gets covered by the hat and scarf)...and what ive added it slits for my eyes in the white of the t-shirt and am now wearing pantyhose around my face underneath...so now i can see yet it still looks fresh to death

Sounds like stealth's been your greatest asset with this. LOL But none the less brilliant!!!!!! When ever I can start working and save up some dough I'm gonna soon get mee supplies to assemble the suit, so this technique should definatly be of a great use to me. :cwink: :woot:

clever! I was going to do the same thing but with white, because I'm gonna use this:

so I can sneak in some eye holes where those white dots are
:D
Nice!!!!!!! What are you usin' as the mask? :woot:
thanks! it's an off white 95% cotton 5% spandex ladies t-shirt, lol
found at a yard sale, it stretches something fantastic!
can't wait to finish it..

So my first Rorschach costume I was a marginally satisfied with, though the mask was not without its flaws. I drew the design on with non-toxic marker. I didn't want to use Sharpie for the fear that breathing in the fumes all night would not be healthy. So, due to not using permanent marker, black marker would smear all over my face after everytime I wore it. By the end of the night, the mask was a smeared mess, as was my face.

I decided to attempt making another one, this time just out of a pair of dance tights, and drew on the new design with a Sharpie. Original problem of first mask solved, and no adverse affects yet from wearing/breathing Sharpie.

nice costume! i hope you dont mind, but i have a couple of questions:
1) what material is your trench coat?
2) if its polyester, did you dye it and how?
3) how did you tie the scarf? it looks great

Thank You.

The coat is 100% polyester. It was a light khaki color and I wanted it a tad bit darker, so I bought some dark brown Rit Dye. I mixed it in with some hot water and threw in some salt. I mixed it around for a little over an hour and dried it in a dryer. I then dirtied/bloodied it up with some acrylic paint and sponges.

As for the scarf, it's hard for me to explain, but it's quite simple to do really. I put the scarf around my neck tightly, grabbed the 2 ends of the scarf and crossed them over. I took the end of the scarf that's over the other end and tucked it through the neck hole. Then I'd straighten it out a bit so it's puffy looking. Hope that helped.

thank you. i tried the idye poly, which is made specifically for polyester and it didn't change the damn color at all. mines a light khaki as well, but my ideal coat is more of a chocolate color. do you think if i maybe use a couple boxes of the RIT itll come out that way? or is there something else i should try?
also, the coat's tag says dry clean only, would it be bad to dry it?

I found out that dying it more won't really do anything other then waste time and money. I put 2 small boxes of Rit Dye and it turned out a tad bit darker. I wish it was darker, but it's better then it was. So I'm happy with it. My coat also says "Dry Clean Only", but I really don't care because it only cost me 7 bucks and what the worst that could happen? It's a tough coat, and I've dried it about 3 times and nothing's changed. I say just dry it.

I don't know. it's just a white scarf. It's kinda thin. It not knitted or anything. Any scarf should do.

ya so i got sick of trying to dye and change my old rorschach coat. i went on ebay and bought a new one. i think this one will turn out much better! all i need to do is shorten it and grunge it up a little.

I've been wondering, do you guys have any tips as to how I can improve on my costume? I'm going to get Comedian's smilie face button, but what else?
