Man Killed by Atomic Wedgie

There are worse ways to go, but there are not many: An Oklahoma man died on Tuesday after his stepson allegedly gave him an "atomic wedgie" so severe that the man suffocated inside his own underwear.

Brad Davis was arrested and jailed on Tuesday for killing his step-father, Denver Lee St. Clair. Apparently, the wedgie knocked St. Clair out, causing him to fall and strike his head. While unconscious, St. Clair asphyxiated inside his own briefs (or boxers—from initial reports it's not clear what he was wearing).

Davis is being held in Pottawatomie County jail on a homicide complaint.

It wasn't the wedgie directly but it's still a bad way to go. I thought maybe somehow it cut off blood flow or caused an embolism before reading the story.

No way do a pair of briefs worn around the waist and groin get stretched from there to the head and sufficiently cut off airflow to the point of death. Cotton and polyester can be breathed through for one thing. This sounds like BS. I dont doubt the guy died but the reporters missed something.

OK, so I came into this thread, right after two different "Gwen Stacy death speculation/Goblin" topics over in the ASM2 boards, and into this thread I had this thought before reading the post that the atomic wedgie resulted in a "snap-back", where the underwear whiplashed back into place, snapping the man's neck.
