BvS MAN OF STEEL 2: Superman/Batman (2015)

Karl Urban isn't handsome enough to be Bruce Wayne, IMO. No to Josh Brolin.

You're joking, right Maooz?

Just like Cavill, Urban is a dashing bastard. And who said there's an "attractiveness threshold" for Bruce Wayne?

:woot:

I'm just so pumped this is happening!!! On cloud nine right now...I would like to see Urban or Gyllenhaal in the role. Hamm is my ultimate choice but I have a feeling he may end up being Lex. It's pretty amazing that the guy could pull off Superman, Batman, and Lex IMO.

When I first heard the news on this, I was crazy excited, but the more I think about it the more I think it is a mistake.

This new Superman had barely started come the end of MOS, he only just got his job at the planet at the very end, and now they are just throwing Batman into the mix, it just seems silly and rushed, MOS 2 should have been their priority for now.

Count me in on the Karl Urban team. His performances in the Star Trek movies and Dredd show the range needed for the role. Plus, dat chin looks great.

Jake Gyllehaal? Good gracious I love him but there is nothing Batman or Bruce Wayne about him.

Chris Nolan apparently disagrees because I believe Jake was the runner-up for Batman Begins.

My guess is the new Bats is gonna be an unknown. I don't see actors like Urban getting the role.

Bruce Wayne shouldn't be a pretty boy anyway.

He should look a little rough around the edges.

Kind of like Daniel Craig's Bond. Both refined and tough.

Mhm. Sadly WB just really is anxious to kick the DCCU into overdrive. They want to get to JLA ASAP.

Speaking of all this, there is alot of opposition to a flash movie online. I see alot of "Wonder Woman deserves her own solo film first not the flash !"

I tend to agree with that prospect, however the opposite is also true, unlike famboys(alien or otherwise), billionaire playboy trust fund types can be very dashing.

I've always assumed a young Wayne is the prettiest JLA member.

If things go really well for with the media build up for WF, I can see the Shareholders and Exec's green lighting a second solo along with flash. Maybe hers.

Shame what happened to GL with the movie we got. Now I guess we will have to wait until JL to get the new GL.

I don't think it's silly and rushed. I think WB came up with a good concept here. Besides, we've yet to hear plot details, how can opinions already be formed about a sequel in pre-production? As long as WF doesn't end up comparing to IM2, it'll be another big step for the DCU.

The more I consider this the more I think it's going to be huge. It's coming at the right time in the CBM lifespan and I thin the guys handling it know this is a crucial project to get right. There have been terrabytes of posts chronicling what was wrong with TDKT and MoS, and I think the team involved is smart enough to know what to take on board and improve.

Just from the announcement date the hype is tremendous, I've got a feeling it's going to build to feverpitch by the time 2015 comes around. Come what may, it's going to be a spectacle of note.

There is no denying this will be huge. Arguably, the two biggest superheros in a film together ?
It's going to be interesting, very interesting to see how this plays out.

I do think it's going to be huge but not as huge as it should be. It all just feels very premature. Not to mention they have to overcome the challenge of selling casual movie audiences on a new Batman a mere three years after the Nolan series has seen it's end. That in itself is a bit of a risk.

Part of me is feeling that Batman may be used in other superhero solo films since WB loves Batman A LOT.

The major call would be the casting of the new Batman. If he isn't well received, he would just singlehandedly drag down the MoS and DCU franchises.

If it's called Man of Steel 2 it needs to be a Superman film first with Batman as a character within that, not a 50/50 teamup film. Although I don't mind which direction the go & would love to see them team up in a World's Finest type film, Man of Steel 2 should be reserved for a Superman focused effort.

I think it will be 70/30 favoring Superman. He will be the one to save the day with Batman's help and the two coming together to establish their trust and friendship... Of course you'll get a scene with two two fighting but with no apparent winner. If there's one it will be Superman whopping Batman since this is their first encounter. Once Batman learn's Sup's weakness he'll be able to beat him one time. :woot:

The obviously went for the choice that would make the most money. I'm so jealous of some of you happy ones, because I can't help but feel that Superman fans got a bit screwed. I remember rooting for WF, but only as long as it didn't interfere with the solo franchise, which it is now likely to do. If WF does great, do you think WB will risk another 200 million on a Batman-less Superman movie down the line? Here's hoping, but eh.

Plus, the "wonderful" writers Goyer and Snyder... guuuh. I overall liked MOS, but that movie has some moments that are the epitome of cluelessness. And with misters "edgy, dark and cool" taking the shots, guess who's gonna be stealing all the spotlight? Guess what the movie's predominant tone's gonna be? Especially with that BS source of inspiration that they're using. It's like they're admiting that Superman doesn't have what it takes to carry his own franchise. Poor guy just got himself one and now he has to share his first sequel.

Sigh, I guess I'll get over it.

i agree i think we need an actor who is well respected and known like a fassbender or a gosling for example

no unknown like cavill or hemsworth as much as i love them

I think it'll be huge. The little I've seen of reaction from the mainstream has been positive so I don't think GA really will find a Batman Superman film premature even though fans do. I agree though that its a challenge introducing a new Batman , but that was gonna happen whether it was MOS 2, JLA or a Batman reboot .

Time can make a difference, but you still have people who can't except anyone but Reeve in the Superman role as we saw after MOS came out, so its not like a long wait guarantees everyone excepting a new actor.

It really depends on the actor they choose and how well he does. Everyone gave Craig flack after being cast as Bond when people wanted Brosnan back . After Casino Royale that stopped.

It'll be a risk, but every film is a risk .
