Okay, I was on Yahoo personals when I got contacted by some bird name kate from Buffalo, turns out Kate was Yulia from Siberia. Normally I don't respond to these things but figured what the hell might be interesting.
Obviously I didn't think much of it, other than a big joke, I mean she lied on her profile so how much trust can you put into it right. So after a week of e-mailing all of a sudden she's professing how much she loves me and sending me e-mails everyday with pictures of her. It made me laugh and I played along, never revealing too much information about myself or where I lived etc. She went on about her friend being in the hospital with the flu, her mother, how her father had passed away etc. I found the whole thing kind of funny.
Of course eventually it got to where she wanted to meet me, so she finally figured out where the closest airport was and said she bought a plane ticket, but of course she needed some money for her visa etc. $500, and that I had to send it to her friend (the same one that had been in the hospital) for tax purposes. Right, I'm gonna send somebody I don't even know money. I told her no, next day I got an e-mail how she was in tears that we weren't going to meet, and that she had sold all her jewellery and was going to lose all the money she spent. Booo, freakin', Hoo. I laughed I thought it was funny.
I decided to do a search for Russian scams and found this site.

I really can't believe that some people fall for this scam. I mean some guy got taken for 3200 bucks, and it wasn't all at once. I mean really if she asks for money you send it to her and she asks for more, isn't that a clue.
I guess some people are just really lonely or just really stupid.
