Can't believe there's no thread on this show.

It's my number 1 guilty pleasure at the moment, as far as reality tv goes.

Appears on Discovery channel

Meet Bear Grylls, ex-special forces survivalist.

Premise: He is dropped into a remote area of the world, with nothing more that the clothes on his back, a water bottle (sometimes) and a flint. The camera crew is under striked orders not to help him, unless it's life and death necessary. He has to navigate his way back to civilization, while living off the land.

I've seen this guy do some amazing survival tricks, and fans of the show, know the most famous one of them all; squeezing and drinking the moisture out of elephant dung :wow: , when he couldn't find fresh water and feared dehydration was coming on...

I like the show too. . but man, the things he does would get anyone else killed. If he's trying to show us how to survive, he's doing a really, really crappy job. There's no way I could climb down a frozen waterfall or shimmy across a rope over a 100-foot gorge.

Dude is badass, though.

Oh man that one episode where he went to the African Sahara...Dear god when he started tearing into that zebra corpse...just

I Perfer survivorman over this one, since survivorman doesnt have a camera crew. Both shows has great information.

I doubt they ( Survivorman and Bear) only has the clothes on his back, a water bottle, cause they never seem to loose any weights, we only see them eat little pieces of food here and there, most of the time their always walking, which should burn up alot of calories.

Speaking of that particular episode. There's one thing in there I would never ever do.

Drink the liquid from elephant ****
**insert vomit simile**

The Elephant dung ordeal was his official moment of fame. I see this guy becoming the next Steve Erwin-god rest his soul.

There's a marathon starting at 4pm EST on Discovery today.

Anyone watch this show on Discovery Channel? I started watching it a few months ago and thought it was really great. Bear Grylls takes us around locations around the world and shows us how to survive in certain situations. The things he does are really interesting.

The new season starts this Friday, anyone going to watch?

I've watched this show and I've thought it was pretty cool. Love the different scenerios he gets put into. This is a pretty good show.

Yeah, I think it's awesome how he creates new ways to survie and eventually finding a way out to home. It's really cool.

I'll be watching...eventually...cause I'm DVRing it.

Sweet. And as for a reminder, it's on tonight at 9:00.

I saw it last night... may the turtle he ate rest in peace....

Big, big fan of this show. In fact i made a thread about it sometime ago. Saw fridays ep in the everglades. Love the way he crunched that poor treefrog down!

Yeah man, I couldn't believe he just ate it like that. Bear just does the craziest things.

BTW, he was on Conan last night promoting the show and it showed a clip of him I believe in Scotland, what happened there got the audience really shocked. :woot:

..a clip from an upcoming ep?

It was either the baby gator or the turtle. Unfortunately for the turtle. The gator is protected by state law or some ****. :csad:

I wonder which one taste better gator meat, ot turtle meat?

And i often wonder about alot of the alleged reports he tells us about, especailly the one about the guy being stuck in quick sand/mud for 4 days. Some of that **** sounds unbelievably horrific.

Nothing can beat him drinking the Elephant dung juice from season 1...nothing!

i love this show. so much better than surviorman.

It kinda sucks compared to survivorman that's my opinion though

Only show on TV that I care for now
