Man with heart outside rib cage beats the odds to live normal life

Fascinating.
Pentalogy of Cantrell is the name of his case, looks like it's not something new, but it is my first time seeing one.
 
I have heard of it before with infants and normally it is something they could surgically fix but he apparently lives somewhere that such surgery wasn't/isn't possible to do.
 
I imagine he'd have to be extra careful not to fall down.
