For those living in South Africa, is there much anger in regards to two British actors playing The South African icon and his first wife?

I know that there's a certain amount of anger towards the other Mandela film "Winnie" with two African Americans playing Nelson and Winnie.

hmm I think if I had to ask the average person here if they knew about this film, they would have no clue that its been made, and probably assume that Idris Elba is South African.

Anyway that was a very simple but effective trailer.hopefully ''madiba'' is alive by then to see it

That's not surprising as many assumed he was an American because of "The Wire." Heck, I think Naomie Harris said last year while promoting Skyfall, that when she was doing this film, she had no idea that Elba was a fellow Brit.

I think I remember Elba saying while on The Wire, some of the people he worked with didn't know he was British.

I'm sure not even Mandela himself would mind so I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt. I think it looks amazing!

Guillermo del Toro said something similar. He had asked one of the producers of The Wire if he thought Idris could do a British accent for "Pacific Rim." I really need to get around to watching The Wire.

They could have used a better choice of music.

I was able to work this a few days ago and later watched the movie.

It had it's moments but I wasn't blown away. I thought Elba and Harris were good together.

This looks like it should be an amazing experience. My only gripe is that I am going to have to wait to see it until next year...

Mandela Walk to Freedom was good. Idris was amazing as expected. The makeup artists did a good job, as Idris looked a lot likke Mandela as the film progressed to his later years. Naomi Harris was great as well.

It's a shame Mandela isn't around anymore to see this.
