The title speaks for itself. I'm looking for a series outside of the shonen-type stuff with a good story and good characters to commit to. Please explain the title(s) you recommend. Thanks.

Akira, the greatest manga there is. Saying otherwise is simply wrong.

I think Naruto is a better Manga the Akira...but thats just my opinion

LMAO...Naruto has sold well over 2.5 million copies...Not counting anime and video game sales...I think there is a reason for that

Just because Akira is your favorite doesnt mean its the best... I dunno how you can judge whats the best...But I`d look at sales numbers to start

You can judge what's the best by what I say, not sales charts.

LMAO...I think the last 2 words in your signature discribe you

Now, now, just because your opinion isn't right doesn't mean you have to spout vulgarities. Why don't you actually read Akira, it might lead you to the right path of good taste.

I already read it...Its not as good as Naruto IMO...You are the one saying your opinion is the right one...all I said was look at the sale numbers

Samurai Executioner, Air Gear,Full Metal Alchemist, and Death Note(all I can think of right now)

I've thought about buying Monster, is it really that good?

Ah, I hate books that talk all psycho-babble and such. Go for the simple stuff: Blade of the Immortal by Dark Horse. An Immortal warrior, out to kill a thousand ***kers who've had it coming, a young girl who saw her father killed and her mother raped. Together they set off on a vendetta of legendary proportions. Trust me, there will be blood. Sadly it will be pricey.

Full Metal Alchemist, Berserk, Monster, Elfen Lied, and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni.

I've had Claymore recommended. Can anyone in here speak for it?

Generic monster slaying title. Add some Slayer Vs. Slayer action and some treachery here and there and its alright.

Sorry I'm a month late, but I got some that are up your alley

Hajime no Ippo
-Pretty well realistic story and characters. It's about this kid who is bullied and takes up boxing after hearing the story of how Mike Tyson was also bullied as a kid.
A****a no Joe
-People well tell you this is the "Rocky of Japan," but the truth is, Rocky is "America's A****a no Joe"
Slam Dunk
Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken
-It has a lot of inspirations from American comics and music, but it's the most original manga I've ever read
Hokuto no Ken
-Ultimate Bad Assness
Initial D
Wangan Midnight
Devilman
Violence Jack
Bad Company
Shounan Jun'ai Gumi
GTO
Rose Hip Zero
Flame of Recca
Golgo 13
