Manning Convicted of Biggest Breach of US Classified Data in US History

Now I honestly have no idea what his motives were for this but he's extremely lucky he didn't get a "traitor" tag put on him

The former intelligence analyst was found guilty last month of 20 crimes, including six violations of the Espionage Act, as part of the Obama administration's unprecedented crackdown on media leaks.

But the judge acquitted him of the most serious charge, aiding the enemy, an offense that could have meant life in prison without parole.

Yeah, I get what Snowden did is viewed as ambiguous, but Manning...kinda ****ed himself up.

This guy is lucky he didn't get life imprisonment or executed.

Yeah I was thinking that too, he's really lucky he didn't get whacked and thrown in the river. Maybe they wanted to make an example out of him.

What are your thoughts on this quote?

"When a soldier who shared information with the press and public is punished far more harshly than others who tortured prisoners and killed civilians, something is seriously wrong with our justice system," said Ben Wizner, head of the ACLU's speech and technology project.

Soldiers who were convicted of treason in the 18th,19th, & even the 20th centuries were summarily put to death.

See, if the **** he revealed is seriously devastating to the country's security then yes, that is a problem. I don't think he was trying to right a wrong.

He says he's a woman......right before going to prison? Man he's just asking for it.....oh he'll get hormone treatment all right...a daily injection but it won't be from a doctor

HAHAH!!
Was thinking the same thing. This guy is just making all around bad decisions.

That was honestly the last thing I'd ever read clicking that link Destruct lol....that was a funny curve ball

how can you leak information about killing innocent people without also leaking about the security of your country?

Oh, there will be some leakage alright....right after he gets to prison and finds a nice inside out pocket to hold onto.

I'm still not quite sure what that meant. I think I do but I'm not sure that I really do. It's prison rape, right? The last half of that is confusing though.

idk what an inside out pocket is supposed to be, is it like when you're poor and have to prove it to someone who asks you for change?
