Marketing people who should have been fired!

very cool...

its true though, they really did market the movie bad. But not too bad, i remember the part in the trailer where they explain he was the only survivor of the train crash, was extremely interesting and intruiging.

the movie didnt bomb.. it actually did amazingg so who cares lol

did anyone ever watch the old the trailer for Chris Nolan's Insomnia...Soooo not what the movie is about...seriously if you watch the preview and you've seen the movie you'll laugh. they chopped that one up so hard to make you think it was a movie about a guy chasing a twisted serial killer. which is probably the reason the movie got jumbled up into the category of "every other thriller movie" out there. Its really a great movie and one of the reasons I got so excited when Nolan was announced for Batman Begins.

Both Hulk movies were marketed wrong. The second one was actually really not marketed at all 'cause they were scared it was gonna interfere with IronMan...look how that turned out.

Hulk movies should be marketed more of Bruce banner... people have this impression that Hulk movies are just the green monster dishing out 2012 meaninglessly

Whoever decided to market Extraordinary Measures like a Lifetime movie of the week.

Speaking of Prince Caspian, the guys who decided that releasing it two weeks after Iron Man and one week or before Indiana Jones 4 was a good idea.

The Marketing team for LXG

making it seem like a hard hitting action movie :/

Hancock. It gave away the plot point that [blackout]Charlize Theron's character was also a superhero[/blackout] in some of the previews.

Similarly, although this isn't necessarily a bad thing, the trailers for The Prestige made it look like [blackout]one of the two main characters could actually do magic[/blackout] when the "he does what we pretend to do" line actually referred to [blackout]Tesla's machine[/blackout] in the movie.

Why should marketing people who tricked the audience be up to be fired? Don't they have to be geniuses to have make something as strong as they did with a movie that weak.

The marketing team behind Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal needs to be exterminated though. 20 years and we got a horrible trailer.

Here here Hulk Brotha... :bh:

I know some brainless market twerp is also behind the "Hulk not talking" thing.

Wow, that is anger inducing...

The marketing team on Year One that tricked me into thinking it would be funny. Seriously, half an hour into that thing and I was damn near suicidal. :o

They pretty much had to because there were spy pics released of the shoot and basically every person saw them on the internet :hehe:

Anyway
Incredible Hulk : Even though i own the movie on dvd , i've seen it about 6 times within a 2 month span as they show it very often on cable . ANd i have to say that along with Tropic Thunder , i enjoyed it more and more with each viewing. It's a terrible shame that it isn't getting a sequel because in terms of enjoyment , i'd place this higher then Iron Man .

Spider-man 3 : Two reasons
1 By releasing all the money shots in tv spots/trailers/previews thus making you think the movie was great
2 Over saturating the market.

Kill Bill :
I know i'll get flamed for this but i honestly don't care. I HATED both movies .

Smokin Aces :
THis really is more about a director spending too much time communicating with his fans. You create these expectations that simply will never be met.
Ditto Terminator :Salvation & Ghost Rider

Well, Shymalan has said that he didn't 'feel the love' when Unbreakable came out, and as a result shelved any plans for writing sequels he had in mind. It was only afterwards when he would make personal appearances and most of the fans who came to meet him were Unbreakable nuts, that he realised the movie had in fact meant something to a lot of people.

Then again, he might have made an inferior sequel, so maybe for the best, but, it also could have been one of his good ones. He still talks about doing one from time to time.
