This thread is simply for any kinds of Marvel facts or history you may come across. It's named after the inexpensive series of comics that came out in the 80's and early 90's.

Basically, if it interests you, post it.

The idea of a shared Marvel Universe has its roots in MARVEL MYSTERY COMICS #8 (Jun. 1940), the first time the Golden Age Human Torch and Sub–Mariner met...

I think I still have a copy of Marvel Age #10, which showed some Leonardi sketches of Spider-Man's black costume, which in these sketches, the white parts were blood red instead...

:yay:

I think I had about #10 to about #75 or so...

Marvel Theme Songs:

(From September 9, 1967)
Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman

Spiderman, Spiderman,
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web, any size
Catches thieves, just like flies!
Look out .. here comes the Spiderman!
Is he strong? Listen, Bud,
He's got radioactive blood!
Can he swing, from a thread?
Take a look, overhead
Hey there, there goes the Spiderman!

In the chill of the night, at the scene of a crime,
Like a streak of light, he arrives just in time!

Spiderman, Spiderman,
Friendly neighborhood Spiderman,
Wealth and fame, he's ignored,
Action is his reward.
To him
Life is a great big bang-up,
Wherever there's a hang-up,
You'll find the Spiderman!

(From September 2, 1966; not only did the show have it's main theme, but the characters had their own separate themes, too.)
The Marvel Super Heroes

Meet the bulky, kinda sulky, kinda Hulky, super hero
Altruistic and electrically tansistorized super hero
And exotically neurotic and aquatic super hero
The Marvel Super Heroes hae arrived!
Super-powers from their foreheads to their toes,
Watch them change their very shap before your nose.
See our cane-striking super heroes change to Viking super heroes,
The Marvel Super Heroes have arrived!

The Mighty Thor

From the Rainbow Bridge of Asgard,
Where the booming heavens roar,
You'll behold in breathless wonder,
The God of Thunder ...
Mighty Thor!

Iron Man

Tony Stark makes you feel
He's a cool exec with a heart of steel
But as Iron Man, all jets ablaze,
He fights and fights with repulsor rays!
Amazing armor, it's Iron Man!
A blazing bomber, it's Iron Man!

Sub-Mariner

Stronger than a whale,
He can swim anywhere,
He can breathe underwater,
Or go flying through the air.
The noble Sub-Mariner is the prince of the seas,
So be wary every demon,
Cause Namor of Atlantis is the prince of the sea!

Captain America

When Captain America throws his mighty shield,
All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield!
If he's led to a fight,
And the duel is due,
Then the red and the white and the blue will come through
When Captain America throws his mighty shield!

The Ever-Lovin' Hulk

Doc Bruce Banner, belted with gamma rays,
Turns into the Hulk, ain't he unglamorays?
Wreckin' the town with the power of a bull,
Ain't no monster clown,
Who is as lovable as ... ever-lovin' Hulk?
Hulk! Hulk!
